Root & Bone draws its name from the staples of the American diet: meat and vegetables. It promises to deliver culinary excellence with southern charm.
Rooted and raised in the South, Chef Jeff McInnis grew up with southern comfort food and hospitality in his blood. His partner, Chef Janine Booth, hailing from Australia, brings with her a true passion for uniting people through food. This power couple already boasts several successful restaurants across the country and the Caribbean, with numerous accolades including three James Beard Award nominations. They are thrilled to be opening their fourth Root & Bone here in WNC. Root & Bone will showcase their southern-inspired cuisine with a modern twist, featuring award-winning dishes such as the Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken, Braised Brisket Meatloaf, Grilled Peach & Tomato Caprese Salad, and Barbecue Spareribs, alongside classic casual items like the R&B Burger, Crispy Fried Chicken Biscuits

    The service was excellent. The server was upbeat and energetic. The food was excellent. It was unique and very flavorful. We would definitely recommend it.

    My husband and I were on a little getaway. We prefer local restaurants and this one is a must! Loved the vibe! We had the fried chicken and Mac and cheese. Wonderful! Moist and tasty! Outstanding service also! We will definitely go back when we are in the area.

    We sat in the front which has sort of a sports-bar vibe. The food is so-so. BBQ ribs are way too sweet. Deserts are bland (tasteless creme brulee with a couple banana chunks on top = total fail). Beet tartar appetizer is outstanding however. All and all, way overpriced for the atmosphere and quality/flavor of the food.

    It was a great experience and the staff went above and beyond. I didn’t know Michelle is the bartender there, we love her!

    First time for several of us in party of 6. Quickly and enthusiastically seated on time, friendly and efficient waitress, excellent food provided in reasonable time. Unique venue and not too loud ambience despite full house.

    Not a very busy night mid-week on a cold day. Service was prompt and attentive. Food is excellent. The only knock is the menu doesn’t change. I am sure they could offer additional wonderful stuff seasonally. But a great place to go nonetheless.
