   We had been wanting to try Rolf & Daughters since our last visit to Nashville. Finally made it and it didn't disappoint. All expectations met and exceeded. Especially happy there are so many vegetarian options on the menu.

   I dine here a lot but this was the first time I was bummed out by the service. We didn’t even get drinks served to us until 35 min after we sat down. Hoping it was a one time thing because this really is my favorite spot in town!

   We experienced a lack of empathy from the hostess. We were stunned by the crassness and almost walked out. Not only were our concerns dismissed, we were treated like we were wrong to even ask. A lot of sober people don’t enjoy sitting at the bar. There’s a way of saying that it’s not possible to get a private table without being overtly rude. A little kindness goes a long way, and a rude hostess taints the experience from the beginning. Instead of dealing with our concern in a professional manner she tried to argue with us that it’s our fault we improperly booked the table. We understand we improperly booked but we don’t understand the hostility. We gave the crowded seating arrangement a chance only to experience slow service in close proximity to gossiping staff. A single apology could have made a difference in this night, but the lack thereof stood out to us. It’s too bad the environment put us ill at ease and overshadowed the food. This isn’t the spot if you’re looking for a cozy private dining experience for a celebration. If you’re willing to tolerate the disrespect and you’re ok with sitting on top of people to be seen eating lobster in the warehouse of a landlocked state, this might be your scene. However, it feels like robbery to have people pay premium prices at an establishment where the experience is uncomfortable at best. All the mocktail lists in the world don’t make a place feel welcoming to a sober person if they push the bar-seating on you. This was supposed to be a nice birthday week dinner. This is the only negative restaurant review I’ve ever had to make which is saying something.

   We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. The food and service was incredible. I would recommend ordering at least one pasta dish and the chicken. It was delicious

   Food was just ok. Thankfully the cocktails were fantastic! Our table was not ready at our reserved time and the restaurant was very crowded so we had to stand near the kitchen entrance at the end of the bar for a bit of time. The same happened to multiple other reservations so it ended up being close to 10 of us huddled in the tiny space to wait. When we were seated it was at a family style table (which is our fault that we were unaware this was the provided seating) between two large, loud groups. There were multiple private tables for two and we asked the hostess if we could switch spots and we were informed that those tables were reserved for other sets of two and we could wait for bar seating which would be about three hours from then. Our server was not unkind, but certainly not very friendly. Overall not a good experience and we would not return. Sad to report as we were really excited to try R&D.
