We’re thrilled to welcome one of our favorite Barolo producers, Paolo Scavino, to our community table! Known to be one of the most important producers in the area as well as acquiring some of the finest vineyard holdings in the Langhe, Scavino offers an unparalleled exploration of Barolo. Our evening features six wines, including Cannubi 2018, Monvigliero 2020, Bric del Fiasc 2020, Bricco Ambrogio 2020, and the iconic multi-vineyard blend, Barolo 2020, along with a sparkling reception. Roberto Boggione, Scavino’s U.S. Ambassador, guides us through the terroirs of Barolo, while Chef Ty presents a Piedmont-inspired five-course menu. Announcing another exclusive Apericena wine class featuring special guest Violante Gardini Colombini, daughter of Donatella Cinelli Colombini, of Brunello’s renowned winery of the same name. A true pioneer in Tuscan wine, Donatella operates the ONLY all-female winery team—a rarity in the Italian wine landscape—and continues her family’s legacy as a Brunello master. This immersive yet approachable wine experience is designed for both enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Through a guided tasting, we’ll explore their Rosso di Montalcino, multiple vintages of Brunello and Brunello Riserva, and their exceptional Vin Santo. Violante and our wine director, Scott Thomas, will share insights into their family's winemaking philosophy, vintage variation, and the unique terroir of Montalcino. Set around our communal table, this class is about more than just tasting—it’s about conversation, discovery, and deepening your appreciation for Sangiovese. Chef Ty will prepare a light two-pasta offering, charcuterie, and dessert to complement the wines, creating a true Italian apericena experience.
