This review is not a reflection on the food as we did not get as far as tasting it. We arrived slightly early and were given menus and shown to a table. We then waited for 10 to 15 minutes while our server returned to the bar and continued his chat with his colleague that we’d interrupted with our arrival. After this long wait, the waiter came and asked a perfunctory were we ready to order. We asked if we could have one Sunday dinner without meat but just the stuffing and vegetables to be told “no we don’t do that”, we asked again to have the same reply. We’ve had Sunday lunch in pubs and restaurants across the uk and having a meal without meat in the absence of a vegetarian roast has never been a problem before today. I’ve always rolled my eyes at people who give spiteful 1 star reviews because they can’t get a reservation but dining out is about quality food and good hosting. In this case we felt more like a nuisance than customers, given no consideration to our requests. I suspect if the kitchen were asked there would have been no issue with leaving meat off the plate but we don’t know. As regular visitors to St Ives we enjoyed visiting the Cellar Bistro and were keen to give the new owners a try. Sadly the welcome and service has gone downhill massively.

Perfect pistop on a rainy November in St Ives!! Best roast lunch we’ve had in a long while - good we could eat at 4pm great service thank you 🙏🏻

A good Sunday lunch can be subjective and very much down to be personal opinion but I would defy anyone to find anything better in St Ives. Everything was perfectly cooked, well presented and the portions were generous. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and somewhere I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Had Sunday lunch here - the soup starter was delicious and the main course (I had turkey and my partner had beef) was quite tasty

We had such a lovely evening at the Reef&Beef St Ives . I cannot recommend it enough. The restaurant is warm and welcoming. The flavours in every dish were perfect. The restaurant warm and welcoming,staff friendly and helpful!

Fantastic Steak and Rack of lamb mains with good selection of veg and sauces. Beautifully cooked. Strongly recommend a visit. Great service also.

Really nice intimate atmosphere, really friendly staff / service and the food is soooo good. Our first time here since it was taken over from being the Cellar Bistro, I can’t recommend this place enough. Try it, you will love it ❤️
