Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. Evolving from a humble bistro on main street to a bustling restaurant on the river with a rooftop bar, Red Hat's commitment to providing the very best experience for their guests has always remained the same. Try the classic menu standards of steak frites, moules frites, country terrine, and the Red Hat burger. Seasonal salads, sandwiches, and seafood entrees round out the menu. The bar offerings of creative craft cocktails, local draft beer, and old world style wines complete the experience. Private events range from corporate dinners to weddings.

    Lovely restaurant on the Hudson River with free parking nearby. A nice variety of food choices to satisfy everyone in your party. They are so accommodating to special requests.

    This is probably my 4th time dining at Red Hat and this was by far the best! The food was excellent as well as the service but the food is what will make me return. Thanks for a great experience!

    Mousse parfait and branzino in a putanesca sauce were perfect. Steak frite had great fries and the steak was flavorful, but it was not uniformly tender. Espresso was ok.

    I wish I had taken a picture of the “16 ounce rib eye” we were served. It was not a rib eye, it was a sirloin at best and was under ten ounces. It was overcooked as well. To add insult to injury, the waiter had the nerve to tell us it was mistakenly a flank steak, which it was not. Then told us there was an issue with the rib eye. Clearly. We’ve dined here countless times over the years and are deeply disappointed that they’ve gone downhill. The prices are outrageous and frankly insulting.
