Travis and Ryan Croxton debut their spinoff from the highly acclaimed Rappahannock Oyster Bar at Union Market in Washington, DC. They’ve even brought their DC Chef, Kevin Kelly, to man the kitchen at this outpost. This location in the historic Cigar Factory Building on East Bay Street, allows room for Chef Kelly to showcase more of his cuisine to a larger audience, including an incredibly unique 40 seat raw bar. Oysters grown by the Croxton’s own Rappahannock Oyster Company are accentuated, but Kelly’s signature dishes like lambs’n’clams, crabcakes, shrimp & grits and the best po’ boy you’ll ever eat are enough reasons in their own right for constant visits. Coupled with a great cocktail program and focus on local ingredients, ROB is a great place for any occasion.

The food here is always delicious. Had garlic oysters today for the first time. They were delicious. There were six of us for lunch. This is a quiet, special place for lunch not in the middle of tourist town. Great chef and wait staff!!❤️ 🥳

Beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. Horrific service. Had to ask for refills and never received one small plate we ordered with other plates that were delivered. Bartender stayed on cellphone rather than ask if we wanted another drink, and it was NYE! Was charged for two cocktails but only had one. Need to retrain staff.

Our server, Katie, was spot on and a joy to have! As always, the food was outstanding too. Kudos to the bartender, best martini I’ve had in a long time.

Our reservation was for 5:30. I got there early and asked if we could have a table instead of a high top because 3 in our party were over 80 and one was short with a bad knee. Even though there were many other tables available I was told no. I assumed they were all reserved, but it would have been nice to have been told that instead of just a flat no. We were rushed through dinner and may have stayed longer and had another drink or dessert otherwise. My soup came at the same time as my entree. Since we were a table of 7 with the extra chair on my side of the table, there was no space for my entree in front of me and it was placed in the middle of the table. By the time I was finished with my soup, everyone else was more than halfway through their entrees. I only ate half of my entree and was very rushed doing so. I ordered bread for the table. When it came there were only 6 pieces. I asked for an extra piece and was told that I would have to place an additional order for another $7. In my opinion, the server should have told me there were only 6 pieces in an order and/or had the kitchen slice it into 7 pieces. One person broke their end piece in half so her daughter could have a bite of bread.

Service was top tier and helpful in the selection of menu items (it was my family and I’s first time there). Food service was quick and the preparation of all of our meals was perfection.
