The Queen Anne Victorian at 210 Savannah Road in Lewes, DE has stood tall for over 100 years. Built in 1899, Captain W. “Diver” Johnston at the age of 52 collaborated with his business partner (William H. Virden) to build a beautiful new house for him and his wife, Isabella. Records indicate that he paid $400 for the entire lot, one of the most prominent sites in downtown Lewes.Over the next 100 years, the Victorian structure built in the style of Eastlake, an English architect, served as a home for many families, including longtime Lewes Mayor, Otis Smith.

The team at Raas is proud to continue the story of the Queen Anne Victorian. Each chapter of the building’s history has added to its charm and we at Raas are excited for its next chapter.

CELEBRATION OF FOOD & CULTURE

Our team’s interpretation of the word "Raas" is a celebration of food and culture while showcasing the medicinal value of Indian cuisine.

Jess and Jonathan were very helpful in helping us choose our meal. Our food was delicious and interesting. Everything was presented so beautifully that it looked like artwork - we almost felt guilty disturbing it. My chicken was the most tender I had ever had and my husband's whole fish was very pleasing to him. It was a good experience to sit in a comfortable booth and observe the kitchen staff at work. The kitchen looked very clean and organized and the chefs certainly knew what they were doing and did it smoothly. They were very gracious in responding when I thanked them from afar.

There aren’t many Indian restaurants in the south Jersey/south Delaware area but at least this one in TRUE to Indian flavors and spices. We found the food to be a little bit more pricey than the Phila area Indian restaurants we frequent, but also as favorable and enjoyable. We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant. We thought some of the wine costs were high, but all of the wines were very tasty with no complaints.

If you like Indian food, this is the best restaurant in a 50 mile radius. Fantastic food, service, and setting. Highly recommend.

This was our second time here and everything was as amazing as it was the first time! Tandoori shrimp, and tandoori scallops are a must have! I absolutely love saag which was part of the chef tasting. Can’t wait to come back.

Delicious authentic Indian cuisine in a beautifully decorated Victorian. We really enjoyed our meal and left with a smile on our face. The house specialty daal dish was amazing!

Fantastic! I’ve been wanting to come to RAAS for a while, wish a hadn’t waited so long. Excellent food - four of us shared a variety of appetizers and mains. My cinnamon chicken was the bomb. My hubby loved the chicken tikka. There was not a morsel of food left on the plates. Service was friendly and knowledgable. We will definitely be back. Give RAAS a try!!
