   We really enjoyed our time at Quod bar, our waitress was lovely, friendly and interactive with my toddler each time she came to the table. The kids milkshakes were a little behind the rest of the order however once asked they arrived promptly. The cakes were a delicious variety and flavours and looked amazing. The scones were perfectly warmed. The only slight downside was the sandwiches lacked flavour and were on the bland side for us. We had x3 AFT between 5 of us which worked out great.

   Quod is an outstanding restaurant and I’ve been many times before. Always delivers. Excellent food quality and choice / lots of attractive options. Great service - professional waiting staff which personality and character. Good prices. Good buzz in restaurant as well, you won’t be alone! Looking forward to me next visit.

   Something went wrong in the kitchen, and it took an age for our food to arrive. Usually this would spoil the evening. The front of house staff were excellent. They kept us informed on why there was a delay and assured us we hadn't been forgotten. They brough bread and olives! When the food did arrive one dish was not as order and was replaced immediately. We were all so full we didn't have pudding, so they brought our teenager (whose birthday it was) a small ice cream with a candle in it anyway, as a "happy birthday". They didn't charge for mixed up dish, or the bread/olives, ice cream or for service (although I left a service payment anyway as they had been so good). It pains me somewhat to write this, since I am not a massive fan of Mogford the owner, whose views on cramming Oxford with cars do not match mine. But he sure does have a very good restaurant here.

   Burger was poor - dry meat and uninspiring bun. Cod at market price I wrongly assumed would be fresh, but didn't seem so - little taste. Both dishes over salted. Nice sourdough bread. And chips with burger were very good. I've eaten here many times before and it's always been very good, not spectacular but reliably good. So this was unexpected and disappointing.

   Thank you for your review. I'm disappointed to hear that on this occasion you felt that the quality of our burger fell below our usually high standards, and that some of the items were too salty. I would like to reassure you that our fish, just like rest of the produce we use is fresh and delivered to us daily, and I'm disappointed to hear that you found the fish to not have much flavor.    We just wanted a quick bite after the theatre at 10.15, and we were efficiently and affectionately cared for. My pasta was perfect, likewise my wife's steak tartare, which she chose to have with the white asparagus on the specials board. We were the last people in the place, but nobody tried to rush us. It could not have been a better end to the evening.

   The menu along with the specials board list an interesting and varied selection of dishes. There is something special for everyone. The wine list is extensive and covers all palettes. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly.

    The restaurant was superb, friendly and discreet staff, the perfect ambience with cool artworks, the food was absolutely delicious and the price suits the experience. It was perfect in every way. We were on a date as a new couple and would revisit, definitely, when we return to Oxford again. Excellent food, wine, service, atmosphere and ambience.........Perfect!
