Pure South Dining is founded on philosophy of Ethical, Sustainable and Provenance driven produce, championing Tasmanian farmers, fishermen and small producers. The best in season produce is flown from the islands of King, Flinders & Tasmanian directly to our Southbank kitchen.

Pure South Dining offers our guests two dining options to suite any occasion.

The ground floor Pure South Kitchen is our casual riverside bistro offering classics from morning till late. Enjoy our Tassie produce without the fuss, while you look out to the Southbank promenade, sipping cocktails with friends.

Ascend the stairs to the Pure South Dining Room, for a modern fine dining experience, with stunning views of the Yarra River & Melbourne's skyline. Dine a la carte, or embark on a culinary journey with our six-course tasting menu. Our in house sommelier is on hand to guide you through our extensive wine list, with over 400 bottles highlighting Tassie Chardonnay & Pinot Noir.

Take the fuss out of a day at the tennis. Enjoy two or three courses from Executive Chef David Hall's Summer Menu, Premium Tassie Beverages and Water Taxi transfer to get you courtside day or night. There is no better way to start a day or night session at the Australian Open, than a visit to the Pure South Dining Room. This bespoke seasonal menu will be available early January, allowing the freshest Tasmanian produce to be centre stage. Water Taxis leave from the Southbank Promenade every 15 minutes, on the doorstep of Pure South Dining.

Really enjoyed our food. Felt it was good value for money and tasted great! Service was good, staff were really friendly and helpful.

We have eaten at Pure South many times in the past. We were incredibly disappointed with the service last night. The food was late and cold, my lamb was half as much as usual. The toilets were filthy. When we complained to the manager he did nothing. I appreciate it is holiday season, but the staff didn’t seem to care that we were not happy. It will be some time before we return.

As usual, Pure South delivered a very good dining experience Great table with river views and excellent food and wine The wine list has some gems with bottle age at very reasonable prices Service was a little challenged due to the number of diners arriving together but no issue once the initial rush was dealt with Highly recommended

Restaurant only half full waited too long for food and couldn’t even get drinks order correct. Almost fell over on slippery floor. Will not be going back

The singing host was fantastic and our server was lovely…we were probably a bit loud ! Only thing the Mariana pasta was a a lot of liquid for a bisque ..very soup like ..apart from that amazing !!!
