First time to Professor Pizza and we learned it had been opened about 9 months. While waiting for our food, I started looking at their Instagram, and saw the owner/chef in many of the pictures. From there, I realized he was all over the restaurant, bussing tables, talking to guests, working with other employees, etc. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation, the host went out of his way to apologize for our wait, which was only 5ish minutes and still before our reservation time. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and beautiful finishes. The music was well selected and not over—bearing, and the sound level was perfect, people weren’t having to scream to hear each other (or anywhere close). We started with the Mozzarella Onion Rings, because they sound interesting and different, they were really good, but hard to eat, as my teeth and our knives had a hard time breaking through the onion, so they fell apart after the first bite. Then we got one cracker style pizza and one NY style. I had the NY style with the Deluxe Sausage & Pepper Pizza - and OMG it was the BEST pizza I’ve ever had by a long shot, and I’m kind of a pizza snob. When Tony (the Chef/Owner) came to our table, I told him that and I could see him light up ear to ear. Those sweet drop peppers add the perfect amount of sweetness to the otherwise very savory pizza bite. I can’t say enough good things about this place - a MUST try (and then repeat)!

We had a large family group after zoo lights and they did a great job of seating us together in back. Service and food were good. I would go back.

We enjoyed Professor Pizza and was the perfect place for dinner before the Second City show. The Detroit and New York style were great!

I come to Chicago a lot. My daughter lives there for 10 years now so we have tried all the pizza. This is hands down our favorite. We got the mozzarella cheese stick onion rings, the grandma crust, and the Detroit style + drinks. Perfection. Everyone was super friendly, checked in, and thanked us for our visit. Give them a shot. You won't be disappointed!

The reason for my score, what’s based on our inability full fill our reservation. We had tickets for a show next door at 8 pm. So, after placing our reservations, we tried calling in ahead to pre order. After no less than 9 unanswered calls to pre order, we arrived at Professor pizza. Then we were told it would be 45min to an hr for our pizza to be ready. So we had to walk out and grab a bite and a drink elsewhere. Sorry guys, the place is highly recommended on all outlets, the place looked nice, the staff seemed pleasent, and they weren’t busy. Not sure why the hard fail on customer service. Maybe one day we will try it again. Hopefully management reads this.

We went here with family that was visiting from California. I had seen it on IG for their mozzarella onion rings and had to try them. They were so good! But...we all agreed that the pizza was some of the best we have ever had. One of the girls was from Queens and had never seen the a restaurant outside of Queens that had Grandma style crust...it was so good. We also got a detroit style white pizza - highly recommend. It had caramelized cheese, white sauce and ricotta with a hot honey sauce on it. The service was great, not super loud and love that there are 5 different types of crust to choose from. Will absolutely be frequenting this place more.

Pizza was unique and incredible. The New York pizza was huge, great value. I usually do not like how salty pepperoni is but here it is not at all. The owner was so hospitable and going around to every table. Will be back soon :)
