   We understood that it was going to be busy on Mother's Day. After arriving at 5pm for our booking, we waited for 1/2hr at our table during which time we weren't even given a menu nor offered any drinks. We were sat by the service station so should have been difficult to ignore - clearly not. When it became clear that we were not going to be offered a modicum of service or attention, we decided to cut our losses and left. So much for the Mother's Day special of being welcome with a glass of champagne and bread! Not even a glass of water

   Mother’s Day 5 course lunch. Great menu. Food was plentiful and tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. Very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be returning.

   Super pub with excellent food and beer. Wide choice and pleasant helpful service. Dogs and children very welcome.

   My second visit since it was refurbished in early 2025 and a rather disappointing one. We had to ask for the Supper Club menu, which is good value, and whilst the service was friendly they neglected to tell us the kitchen closed at 9 so we couldn’t order dessert. My schnitzel wasn’t really a schnitzel but tasted ok although nowhere near as good as the one I had 2 weeks ago! The Shere Drop was also off but you can’t blame them for selling out. Hopefully, if I go again it will be like the first visit rather than the second.

   Hello Tim, We're sorry to hear the visit was disappointing and communication was not clear, we will always be happy to exchange dishes if they do not meet your expectations. The schnitzel is very popular and normally delicious, so if it's not right the kitchen should know. Shere Drop is extremely popular and last week with the warmer weather we sold more than normal - it took us by surprise! The good news is its back!    We had some issues last time we visited, only minor ones, and I’m very well aware that the pub is under new management. However, I’m delighted to say that last night, it was a pleasure to visit. Special shout-out to Ben who was friendly, helpful, efficient. And the food was delicious, hot and arrived speedily. They were busy but we were in a quieter spot and on a table for two which was very welcome.

   Absolutely wonderful.. great service, menu choice , waiter, food and did fixed price menu £21 for 2 courses. And loads of parking .... will be returning

   Thank you Richard, for your review of our food - we love it too! On the service side we normally make sure each table receives a timely check back post food, apologise if the staff were overly keen - we have some newer members and will feed this back.

    Very nice meal - first visit since change of ownership and refurbishment. Still a lovely place to go and food was as good as ever.
