I have always loved dining at Plate but this day was quite different. The Caesar salad was good but the moderno salad was soaked in dressing. The bread was amazing as always but the pasta entrees were poorly made. Both the white sauce and vodka sauce were bland with the exception of being far too hot, in the case of the vodka sauce. A stark reminder that it is possible to have excessive use of hot spices while still presenting a dish that is bland. Service is always good at Plate and when the manager realize the condition of our entrees, he offered to replace or discount our plates. We’ve always enjoyed this restaurant but don’t have plans to return. There are many fine dining establishments in our area, so it’s easy to pass on the ones that come up short.

Our server seemed “checked out”. Multiple missteps. Food and the vibe at Plate Brookside is better.

Our server, Drake, was incredible. The food was crazy good as always. We’ve never had anything but an awesome experience at Plate.

Had the opportunity to try out this restaurant today. Ir was an amazing experience and our server Alex made things that much better. She was kind and patient while we made our decisions. I cant recommend Alex enough! The food was amazing! Fresh and flavorful. We will definitely be back.

We ate here during restaurant which allowed us to have a 4 course meal at $45.00 and it did not disappoint. The food was fabulous in a chic atmosphere. The gnocchi was the best I have ever had, small soft melt-in-your-mouth ball of gnocchi. My husband had the Brussel sprouts which were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The caesar and modern salads were both fresh and light. The veal and salmon were both the perfection. All of the courses were accompanied by wine recommendations. The Italian wine pairing for the entrees was outstanding. Finally the meal ended with wonderfully flavored and light tiramisu. I highly recommend Plate Italiano Modern in Leawood. It was delicious

Food was great but service was lacking. In the past we have had great service. Disappointed that my take home box was missing the truffle butter we purchased with the bread. One of my favorite things on the menu!

fantastic feed! I had the salmon which melted in my mouth! Focaccia bread was delicious but a little on the salty side. Everything was pretty good overall. It was restaurant week so it was very busy. Parking was a nightmare!!
