Pietramala is a little restaurant located in Northern Liberties celebrating plants, wood-fire cooking and seasonality. We offer a small, regularly changing menu based on the highest quality, organic ingredients grown or made with care in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic. Our Italian leaning, but globally inspired food is always presented simply with familiar flavors achieved in creative new ways. Often touched by fire, smoke or fermentation to unlock unique flavors, our dishes sometimes require days or even months of preparation. We pride ourselves on our open kitchen, where our wood-fired hearth takes center stage, and our commitment to friendly service and warm hospitality in an intimate, but lively atmosphere. All are welcome and our entirely plant-based menu can accommodate any allergy or dietary restriction with advance notice. We are currently BYOB and offer a small, seasonal alcohol free beverage menu. We look forward to welcoming you.

This dining option is for the kitchen counter directly overlooking the chef’s pass where the food is garnished and passed to the servers. You will be able to view the whole kitchen in action and interact with the chefs as they serve your food. Please consider that this reservation is near the door and is bar seating. I will start by admitting I am a carnivore, but love vegetables as well. Our server as well as everyone at this restaurant worked really well together and helped each other out with all guests. We started with focaccia bread with tomatoe and the smokiness of the tomatoe worked beautifully. The porcini carpaccio had a fantastic texture and flavor. Second course of sweet potatoe was incredible and had enough spice to balance the dish beautifully. The blistered carrots were superb and a must when dining here. The main dishes of cabbage and gnocchi were beyond extraordinary. My husband and I both loved the smokiness of the charred cabbage and the gnocchi was prepared perfectly with a slight sweetness that gave depth. I love this restaurant and will return. This is actually the first time I remember each dish and that says something when each dish impressed you that much!

This is a very small, very vegetarian restaurant and I had a very nice time here. Food was delicious and service was friendly. You can see the chefs cooking which was neat. The place was clean and very cozy. It's on the pricier side but it was worth it. They saw on the reservation notes that it was my girlfriend's birthday and they put a lit candle on dessert. It was a sweet gesture. I definitely would like to come here again.

Pietramala never disappoints. It continues to be the most clever food in the city. Chef Ian and his team exist in a league of their own and set such a high bar for what can be done with the best produce you can get your hands on. Brava, ya’ll are the best

My partner and I first discovered Pietramala in spring 2024, and have found ourselves going back almost every time we are back in Philly. I want to stress that we are not vegans (though we are pescatarian); however, every dish at Pietramala is innovative and transcendent, showing you what is truly possible with the ingredients that you might not have ever considered or thought about. Everyone who works there - from the chefs to front of house - are all fantastic, and the ambience is always just right. Cannot recommend Pietramala enough

Delicious food, cool vibe and ambiance. So many fantastic choices to choose from. Our 2nd time there in a month from out of town. Our top rated vegan restaurant in Philly, and I've been to them all.

I’m not a vegan and fully enjoyed my entire meal!! Focaccia, market salad, potato and cauliflower were out of the world— tasty and seasoned perfectly!!! Definitely a favorite stop for us.
