   Lovely atmosphere in the Medieval area of Kilkenny and attentive service. The vegetarian dishes were very good. Will recommend it and come back.

   Disappointed as we went for a specific menu item that they did not have, they tried to seat us next to the door of the ladies room, and I mean right next to the door, and would only accept gratuity in cash. We could not add it to our tab. Food was very good however and the ambiance lovely.

   Stopped in on a whim and had a wonderful dinner. Our party had sea bass, chicken, gnocchi and a steak and everyone loved their dinner. Service was lovely.

   Both my wife an I had the Duck and both were very dry and tough, it felt like it was left under the heat lamp for hours to dry out before being served. And we were there at 5pm for the very start of the dinner service. The vegetables were bad also, most so the parsnips, they were rock hard, very raw and very stringing. The dish had all the ingredients to be amazing but was so disappointing. The deserts also too a very long time to come and felt of poor quality. Such a shame as this restaurant was so good in the past, the standard of food preparation as fallen. The service was top notch, the servers were fantastic, the atmosphere fantastic but the kitchen let it down. I'm afraid we won't be going back even though we were frequent visitors a number of years ago.

   We visited Petronella on st Patrick’s day and sampled the brunch menu with such lovely and friendly service that we decided to visit again on our last evening. Wow, the food didn’t disappoint, everything was cooked to perfection and the service from the staff was both efficient and friendly. The whole restaurant has such a friendly feel to it and our meal there was a lovely way to end what had been a fantastic road trip around county Dublin, Cork and Kerry. Well done Petronella we will definitely visit again.
