Nestled in the heart of downtown Western Springs, Petite Vie offers a menu curated with classic French dishes infused with Chef Paul Virant's signature flair. Spending time researching in France for inspiration, Virant has crafted every dish with meticulous attention to detail and a reverence for tradition.

Seating 65 guests, Petite Vie’s intimate space exudes the warmth and comfort of a traditional French brasserie, while seamlessly blending modern design elements. A collaboration between Virant, his wife Jennifer and long-time friend and designer Jody Tate, every detail at Petite Vie tells a story of meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful curation.

Featuring French intricacy and layering, the space is a canvas of artistic expression, with artwork curated from both local talents and treasures acquired during the team's time in Paris. Framed prints, commissioned paintings, and a round antique mirror passed down through generations, adorn the walls, adding layers of intrigue.

Finally an actual French brasserie in the western suburbs! This gem of a restaurant offers great ambiance, skilled service and a varied menu beautifully executed. Allez-y!

We decided to have a late dinner here on a Saturday night. We chose to sit at the chef’s counter. It is warm by this area, but fun and bustling to see them working on all the delicious food. We started with escargot and the scallop appetizers. Both were delicious, and left us wanting more. We shared a lyonnaise salad, the combination of ingredients was flavorful and light, and the dressing was a perfect balance with enough acid. We had the steak frites and the monkfish, both were outstanding. We finished with the new apple tart with crème fraise ice cream. it was a great combination- the tart was buttery, caramelized, cinnamon forward and the ice cream was not too sweet. We had manhattans (well made, but fairly standard), the framboise cocktail (berry flavor, smooth, and light) and the signature petite vie 75 cocktail (citrus forward, sweet, and fresh). Definitely will be back!

Such an incredible evening. The food is inspired, service was terrific and sitting at the counter and watching the chefs was a dream come true!

Recommend sitting at the bar. Good, friendly bartenders. I had the scallops and cod - both terrific. Good drinks too!

Vie was so good we were wondering how the change to Petite Vie would compare. Gotta say we were more than satisfied and now we are just as excited to go back! Food was phenomenal and so was the service. Always helps when you sit at the bar and Pat takes care of you too!!! They kept just enough of the old to make the new even better!

Another visit to Petite Vie and another outstanding meal. Just love this place. Since we moved to the suburbs from the city, it's been hard to find really good restaurants. This place is warm, inviting, delicious and the customer service is awesome. Highly recommended.
