Paya is an exuberant, island-inspired restaurant and bar located on Miami’s South Beach founded by Mohamed “Mo” Alkassar and Chef Niven Patel, the duo behind FEAL Hospitality. It is a platform for Chef Niven Patel to pay homage to the insular cuisines of the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Spain’s islands, where he and Mo have either worked or visited extensively. Chef Niven’s dishes incorporate ingredients he grows at Rancho Patel, complemented by vibrant wines and tropical, farm to glass cocktails.

The restaurant features 56 dining room seats, 25 bar seats, and 8 raw bar seats, with a gorgeous display of fresh seafood. Expect to jam to some Manu Chao style music while basking in the vibrant island vibes and flavors. South Beach has been home to Mo since he moved to Miami in 2016, and Paya is his thank-you to the community that supported him through his journey.

What a gem! The neighborhood's latest dining destination comes to South Beach with a warm yet cool vibe and a beautiful urban garden, all tucked away off of Alton Road and 17th Street. On our first of what we hope to be many visits to Paya, we enjoyed the duck confit lumpia, peri peri chicken, and calabaza gnocchi. A decently priced Tempranillo harmonized well with the diverse and vibrant flavors favored here. And the rum cake, though lacking in boozineas for OUR taste, was nevertheless tender and satisfying. Looking forward to returning to Paya!

We did the tasting menu. The black grouper was insanely good with bokchoi and heirloom carrots. Also loved the ribeye with chimichurri over potato! wait staff was friendly attentive professional and not intrusive. Welcome to the city paya

Beautiful patio and amazing, unique food. You definitely have to try the grilled cheese with mango and the avocado tomato salad. Highly recommend

The service was stupendous, so knowledgeable. The PEI Mussels were delicious with Tikka Masala. Chicken and catch of the day with lemongrass, etc. really delighted. Again, can't say enough about the service.

Beautiful seating outside with delicious island inspired food. We were in a hurry and the staff was super accommodating. Wahoo ceviche, salad with pineapple and coconut dressing, lemongrass grouper in a curry sauce and chimichurri steak (with a Sunday deal on steaks no less) were all outstanding.

Tasting menu was family style and a perfect sampling of this restaurant and plenty of food for four of us. Would highly recommend!

Good service and interesting, varied menu with some flavorful vegetarian options. Mushroom summer roll was delicious, while the pei mussel appetizer was overly spiced, in our table's opinion. Loved the peri peri chicken. Drinks and wine were South Beach pricey, though there now is a nice daily happy hour we'll try next time.
