The crown jewel of the hotel, our rooftop restaurant Overlea (meaning, “over the meadows”), is a stunning open concept space with horseshoe bar, floor to ceiling windows, and breathtaking views of historic Newmarket. The menu is a celebration of seasonal simplicity created by Chef Jon Turner. With terraces on each side complete with greenery, lounge furniture and fire tables, Overlea is the perfect place for a quiet escape into an evening of the unknown. The back kitchen really isn’t ready yet. Salad didn’t nearly enough dressing, shrimp on salad had zero spice or flavour, smash burger subpar and fries way over done. The menu leaves much to be desired. The decor and ambiance was lovely and chic very tasteful. Service was excellent. Very attentive and polite. Would be beautiful for drinks and apps in summer on patio. But the menu has a way to go and the quality control of food needs work but they are new. Need to work out some kinks so to be expected. The owner needs to pay more attention to what gets selected on menu.

Was delighted to find this place here in Newmarket where we live. A pleasant shift away from the usual style of restaurants around here. Wish for more of these restaurants to come up around here. Felt the restaurant is a little under staffed but overall no complaints. Definitely coming back! Keep up the good work!

Food was good, service was excellent, ambience was really nice! Great to have a “nicer” restaurant like that in Newmarket, but a bit overpriced! Having said that, we will go back again.

Very pleasant atmosphere, however found it very odd to have food delivery persons rolling down the aisle beside our table with dollies filled with boxes.

We went for brunch, the SMOKED STEELHEAD LOX, SOUR CHERRY PANCAKES and SMASHBURGER were a hit. The wine list was reasonable and the atmosphere was really nice. There's a lot of natural light in the space! Will go again :)

Food was delicious and ambiance was beautiful. Service wasn’t need to the same level. - our waiter wasn’t attentive - water glass wasn’t kept topped up (had to ask) - had to stop the waiter to ask for another drink order as we weren’t being asked - waiter led us to believe that it was best to order a side with our main, but when the main arrived it was more than sufficient. Ended up taking the side home. - the main took 45 minutes to arrive after finishing our starter

Food was great and tasty for the most part. The bison carpaccio was great. Halibut and Sunchoke pasta were delicious and right on point. The duck needs some tweaking as it did not taste great and was too tough. The deserts were great as well. The service definitely needs some improvement. We had the unfortunate chance of being seated in a section with large party and as a result the service was negatively affected. Although our server was very pleasant, our wine and water was never topped off and we had to ask for refills from different people. When the water was topped, it was only done for the person who asked for it, instead of the whole party, which confirmed lack of attention to details. The water glass had a bad bleach after taste and had to ask to change it twice. Once the food was brought, there was no quality check and we were left to our own vice. It also took over one hour to be served the main course, which I think was due to the party a head of us. The ambience is great, however I did not get to enjoy it much seating right beside the service door as there was constant interruption by employees going in an out of the kitchen. The restaurant has fantastic potential and we will definitely go back. We just hope all the kinks are worked out by then.

The meal and service was superb! As the have a seasonal menu, some items on menu were unavailable but the server told us the substitute. Service was a nice pace and we were not rushed. It was a beautiful space to enjoy food and sit back and chat over dessert.
