    I’ve been dining here for 45 years and have never had a meal that was less than memorably terrific. Over more than four decades, it’s maintained the same high standard across the board, not missing a beat as both the Osteria and I have aged gracefully together. I always have the carpaccio, followed by the calamari steak meunière, and finishing either the hazelnut flan. All every bit as good as the first time I had them, despite not being particularly fond of any calamari or hazelnut I’ve ever had anywhere else. But here: perfect, or as near to perfect as you can get in this otherwise frequently imperfect world. Since I no longer live near Palo Alto, this was my first return visit in over a year, and it was like visiting an old ad dear friend who never seems to age. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

    Great food! In the past, we have had great service. This last time, we invited our friends to dinner. Sadly, the worst service ever. The server was incredibly rude and everything was slow. The good news- food was great.

    Our server was not attentive and quite brash and impatient when she did engage. My Lasagna was burned black on the bottom which negatively affected the taste. We ordered a second glass of wine that didn’t arrive before we finished our dinner. Rather than apologize first, an excuse was offered. Good service makes a big difference to any meal.

    The food was fantastic. The waiter was v good but frantic bc she had too many tables to serve. We had Saltimbucca, and another veal dish. Both were incredible. Desserts also very good. Only complaint was the caesar salad romaine lettuce wasnt very fresh… easy fix. We shall return!

    osteria is one of the first and best restaurants I ever visited when I moved from the Midwest to the San Francisco Bay Area Peninsula the . Food is consistently excellent the service is consistently excellent. I especially appreciated that I could not get a Wi-Fi connection on a publicly available Wi-Fi and the waiter came over and logged me into the restaurant Wi-Fi so that I could get my Uber I really appreciate that

    They sat us at a table by the restroom. People were lining up to use the bathroom & looking at us. It was very uncomfortable. It is weird to sit at the table. They should do something about that arrangement. The service was good. The old Osteria ambiance we knew had been changed. It is sad to see the change.

    Hi Sean, We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused by your table placement near the restroom. There are times where the restaurant is full and we use all the tables available to us. We prefer to sit larger parties in that area, but some nights its all smaller groups, and thus we have no other choice but to use the tables available to us. Insofar as the ambience, I am curious to what you feel has changed. I understand that your tables location by the restroom made your experience less enjoyable, and i do apologize for that.
