London’s Ooty on Baker Street promises an extravagant South Indian culinary experience, unlike anything the city has seen – or eaten - before. With a name tracing back to the origins of an idyllic hill-station in Tamil Nadu, Udhagamandalam (a.k.a. Ooty), this new concept restaurant captures the essence of the historical British Raj combined with the plush contemporary finish of modern day London. On Saturdays, Ooty kicks the weekend off with a vegetarian-friendly and bottomless Prosecco-fuelled Indian brunch and the lunch and dinner menus are stuffed with delicacies from all corners of South India. If you want to try as much as possible then we recommend one of the set menus. You can go gourmet with either tea or wine pairing, or go for the meat, vegetarian or vegan set menu. As you can see, there’s plenty of choice!

My wife n me went out for dinner for my birthday. The reception, food and service were all good. One particular thing which unsettled us was the fact that all the customers around us were requested for snaps by the restaurant team while we were never asked for one. We didn’t want one.

I have been there several times and enjoyed always. But today for some reason, the food was very disappointing. There was excessive salt ina fee of the dishes we ordered.

Nice new addition to the Marylebone area, and a good way for foodies to appreciate Southern Indian cuisine. Staff was very helpful with food suggestions. Also a classy, though slightly limited, wine list. Overall would strongly recommend.

Service is excellent and they went overboard to help us in our choices and ensure we enjoyed ourselves however the food was simply not tasty. I have rarely eaten such bland food in an Indian restaurant and was sorely disappointed in what we ate. If as much effort was put into the non meat dishes as the meat ones I am sure this review would be better, but truth is, as a non meat eater, the fish dishes were not enjoyable and the vegetarians bland beyond words. I will not be returning despite the excellent cocktails and service. - their bar however I definitely will!
