   Food amazing as always - best Japanese in London in my opinion. Service was warm and professional as always. However, when we requested another table which was empty and the same size as our party were told it was not possible and rudely “that is what you’ve been assigned”. The table we wanted was then empty for the whole of our meal. Not great! If an explanation was given would have been fine but it wasn’t. Considering we are so loyal and have been coming since the restaurant opened and order monthly delivery we were disappointed. Also mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and nothing was done … not expecting a song but some acknowledgment would have been nice. Will be back again as the food is the best and service is warm and friendly. Still, be more amenable to changing allocation of tables please.

   Loved the restaurant!! The staff were so kind, and the food was amazing. Prices were really great too I was expecting the bill to come very pricy as we ordered A LOT of sushi but it was actually very affordable. Will definitely be going again :)

   This Oita is the hidden gem of Wood Green. Warm, eclectic, arty interior, with nice lighting and no loud music (makes a difference); lovely and mellow yet efficient and observant service, fantastic delicious & varied dishes (cooked and raw) at truly fair, good value prices including for wine, beet and cocktails. We were a table of 8 and has a marvellous time, thank you.

   Overall, the food selection and options are commendable. The service is good—attentive and polite. However, the most critical aspect of this review is the food itself. In Asian cuisine, rice is the essential ingredient in every household, and every respected chef must understand the importance of preparing quality (Kome) rice. Given that a majority of the sushi bar dishes on your menu are based on rice—approximately 80%—it is imperative that it be prepared to perfection. Unfortunately, I have encountered dishes where the rice lacked texture, was underseasoned with sushi su, and resembled congee (for those unfamiliar, that’s porridge) with tinny bites of undercooked as well. This issue has arisen on more than one occasion with my family dining at Oita . Let me be clear; I’m not seeking free food or discounts; that’s not my intention. However, when I’m craving sushi and desire authenticity, I can no longer consider Oita my top choice. The subpar quality of the rice is something that should be acknowledged, as it’s important for restaurants to recognize when customers have valid feedback.

   Carefully made and beautifully presented sushi, plus delicious hot food including Japanese fried chicken. We have visited multiple times and always enjoyed our meal and the ambience.

    I have recently discovered this gem of a place and cannot recommend it highly enough ( especially as it’s only a 10 minute walk from my house!) The restaurant is laid out to accommodate both small, intimate dinners/ drinks or larger gatherings, both of which can be going on without being disturbed or having to raise your voice to be heard. The menu is extensive and for those not familiar with Japanese cuisine, explains each dish clearly and simply. The serving staff also know their stuff if you need help. The drinks menu is also extensive serving a great range of wines, spirits , cocktails and of course, Japanese drinks. Last but not least, the prices are very reasonable. If you live in and around the N22 area, do give it a try. It’s located opposite Wood Green underground and loads of buses stop nearby too. I’ll be back in the New Year to enjoy another delicious dish or two. Can’t wait!
