Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria, Philotimo, and the newly opened Le Clou. Officina seeks to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy to Washington, D.C., and is an ode to Stefanelli’s travels, training, and distinctly Italian-American upbringing.

We look forward to welcoming you for unique experiences that capture the essence of Italy. From sunset cocktails atop our Terrazza or a weekday lunch in our Cafe.

We had high expectations for this restaurant given its reputation (2021 Michelin), but unfortunately, our experience fell short. Upon arrival, we were seated at a two-top table that wobbled so much it made dining uncomfortable. While the staff accommodated our request to move to another table, this was just the start of several disappointments. Our server was friendly but missed several steps in the meal. Bread was offered to other tables but not to ours, and his product knowledge was not up to the standard we expected. Service overall was slow, which added to the frustration. My husband enjoyed his meal, but my veal arrived lukewarm and lacked the quality I anticipated. Adding to the discomfort, another couple seated at our original table experienced similar issues. They had to move tables, received improperly made drinks, and were served cold food. Watching them request to leave and adjust their bill was eye-opening. This experience didn’t match the level of excellence we were expecting from a restaurant of this caliber, and we left feeling underwhelmed.

None of our dining party felt well after eating at this restaurant. Ambience was wonderful as well as location but leaving and all members of the dining party developing upset stomach and getting sick ruined what was supposed to be a night to celebrate.

We had high hopes for our experience. I had heard many great things about Officina. I think our experience wasn’t great was due to our server. There was some kind of mix up with who was going to be our server so we were sitting waiting for a long time and when a server finally came they didn’t seem interested in helping us. Food was ok, I’ve honestly had better Italian food. Ambiance was nice. Not sure if I’ll go back.

This was a wonderful surprise and is why we like OpenTable. We were searching for a last-minute place to eat and went to OpenTable right away. It is always a great way to try a new restaurant without feeling like you are throwing darts at a board. Offcina did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and the food was fresh and delicious. We were here the day after Christmas, so it was a light night for them, but the staff was attentive and provided the service you would expect at any top-notch restaurant. The Michelin rating is well deserved. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The food was good. Overpriced for what it is but it was tasty. We did not enjoy the lack of flexibility from the restaurant regarding our order. We had to order everything we wanted for the table at the same time. The pace of our dinner was dictated by the chef and servers. This is not our preference when we want to enjoy our time trying multiple food items, wine and cocktails. The restaurant was largely empty on a Saturday evening at 7:30pm making this strict requirement to order all at once even more ridiculous.

The place is very nice, but the food is average and the wait staff was at our table every few minutes trying to rush us to order, then later tried to clear all of our plates even though not everyone was done eating yet!! Felt totally rushed and it ruined the meal.
