The dome-shaped venue on the Hoe, aptly named The Dome, was designed by architect Tony Irish. The Dome was first opened in July 1988 as part of Mayflower commemorations in Plymouth and started life as a local museum and tourist information centre.

Designed to have the Art Deco feel and opulence of a 1930s ocean liner, the venue’s bar will feature an extensive wine and gin list, a selection of cocktails plus a full range of beers, ciders and soft drinks.

The restaurant’s menu will feature fresh, local and seasonal produce and will include fish sourced from local day boats. We will also be offering traditional afternoon teas.

There will be opportunities for private dining, small weddings and business meetings – all set against a spectacular ocean view backdrop!

The nicest afternoon tea we have had! My daughter is a vegetarian so went with the vegan option which was delicious too. Beautiful view overlooking the Sound from our table. I did manage to eat it all which was unlike me but it was all too delicious not too.

Excellent service, the waitress was friendly and helpful. Delicious food, freshly cooked and plentiful. We've been there a few times now, and will definitely be going back.

Starters looked and tasted very basic. Fish and chips good. Cauliflower steak overbaked and very bland & unattractive. Cocktail good, pleasant staff but took long time to attend for initial drink, although food arrived promptly. Temperature of room a little on the chilly side.
