As you enter Norman South Yarra, you are not only greeted by a team member but also a two-level tranquil venue which can hold up to 100 guests. The cafe is sleek and sophisticated with brushed gold finishes, marble patterns, baby blue hues and greenery throughout to give it a homely vibe. Norman’s newest addition since opening its doors (officially), is its outdoor seating which has partially taken over Cunningham St, with six bench tables seating up to six guests. The outdoor space allows for customers to enjoy the summer air all while enjoying a delicious feed.
When it comes to the food, the Norman South Yarra menu features a mix of classic cafe dishes with a twist as well as entirely new creations, giving cafe goers every reason to try something new. Whether it be an all-aussie breakfast dish like Norman’s Vegemite avo toast or more left of field like zucchini and corn waffles, Norman really has something for every hungry tummy.

                                                    A post-Christmas catch-up with friends at cool and relaxed Norman was exactly what was needed. Meeting for brunch we enjoyed the truffled hash, chilli scrambled eggs, sushi bowl and eggs on toast - all well made and delicious - and good coffee. Service is swift and friendly. Can recommend!

                                                    Very unfortunate circumstances. They were short staffed. Only a handful of menu options were on offer. The worst part was how poorly the manager handled the situation. He was clearly stretched beyond coping and was abrupt and curt when I queried the situation. The p,ace was empty. We should have left when we saw the problems but felt sorry and thought we would support the place.

                                                    Such a great experience this morning, coffees were great, food looked beautiful and was delicious! Everyone in our great really enjoyed our experience. Atmosphere was vibing too!

                                                    Lengthy wait for a “booked” table, drinks came and waited for food, food came and drinks empty. Asked for drinks to have with out meal. Again, food finished and drinks came. NEED more staff and organisation/management to cope. Also a surcharge to pay and quite expensive 😞😔

                                                    Lucky this one is my local. The coffee is great, the food is always delicious and the service is excellent. The new Truffle Hash dish was YUM!

                                                    Edit- 12/11/22 12:10 am Coffee was good, food was okay, a bit overpriced but tasty. Energy was way too underwhelming. It seems the wait staff was only interested in catering to fair skinned patrons, we were the only not so fair skinned and were made to feel like someone coming in for free food. I wanted to share my experience with manager, not because I was being a Karen but just so they know and see if they can find opportunities to improve. - I was told there’s no manager and they are short staffed. Monica spoke to me and am very happy with the way she spoke to me. It seems that she understood and has requested that we give cafe another go. We’ll go back at some point and Hope that the service has improved. It will take a landslide difference in our treatment for me to call this cafe 5 stars. 12/11/22 11:30am At the restaurant now. I have a confirmed table reservation, however walk-in we’re attended to first, I’m asked thrice if I made a reservation before being asked to seat. Once seated 4th person asks have you made a reservation. Still waiting for a glass of water after 15 mins. Will update my review after food, let’s see if the stars change.
