Welcome to the No.1 Bar & Bistro. Located within the Queens Hotel, one of the city’s largest independent hotels, in the bustling heart of Brighton seafront, we are the ideal place to enjoy a relaxed afternoon or evening with cocktails, a nice wine, good food, great views and even better company.
Chef Harvi and his team have designed a new all day dining menu for the Autumn/ Winter period showcasing the a fresh and tasty new look.
We are proud to say that we offer a vegan menu running alongside our all day dining menu. We firmly believe Veganuary should be for the whole year and not just in January and give you all the freedom to choose.
Enjoy our sumptuous Afternoon Tea with prosecco in our newly refurbished Sun Lounge. Homemade scones and sweet treats overlooking the sea? Yes please!

The place was virtually empty. The guys serving us were both absolutely amazing couldn't fault them, fantastic.

Excellent food didn’t have long to wait for fresh food. We have chosen to eat in restaurant on second night, we were eating out but decided to use the restaurant again excellent service nice surroundings.😀🍊

Service was lovely. Menu is very small. Starters come out and went back as was cold. My burger and chips was nice. McDonald’s quality at overpriced prices. My partners main course the prawn linguine was oily and tasteless. Not at all worth the price tag. Such a shame as I would stay at the hotel again but would definitely not eat in the restaurant. £2.50 for a packet of crisps too. Absolutely disgusting. Spoke to the table next to us and they thought the same about the food. It was my sons 7th birthday so didn’t want to complain and make it awkward.

Had an amazing Afternoon Tea here. The amount of delicious food you got for the price was incredible! The staff were super friendly and attentive and the views of the Pier and ocean while I had tea were lovely!

We enjoyed our meal here, the food was very good and the service was excellent. We were offered a seat in another room to the bar which was very quiet and made the evening feel a little more special.

The menu covers a variety of tastes. I chose the chicken wings to start, followed by sirloin steak then salted caramel cheesecake. All were well-presented and tasty. The service was excellent; attentive but not intrusive. I would happily eat there again.
