Nanas is a neighborhood restaurant in Durham, North Carolina. Helmed by Chefs Matt Kelly and Nate Garyantes, Nanas pays tribute to Nana’s, our beloved predecessor, while reimagining all of the details. Abundant, local ingredients shine on our seasonal menus, which feature dishes like Twice-Baked Grits Soufflé, Duck Ragout Tagliatelle, and the iconic Nana’s risotto alongside seasonal wood grilled whole fish, crispy lamb shoulder, and fresh-baked breads and desserts made daily in house. In our cozy bar you'll find finely executed classic cocktails and local beers, while the wine program offers upwards of 250+ labels of impeccably curated, farming-first wines. If your desired time for a reservation is not available our bar seats are open on a first come first serve basis. Call your nana, it's time to eat.

The quality of the food and wines by the glass was outstanding as always though the prices and portion sizes (including pours) seemed a little disproportionate. We also enjoyed a lovely conversation with the table for two next to us and discovered a surprising number of connections. Nana's is justifiably highly rated for the amazing quality of the interesting menu choices. Our major nit to pick is the abysmal lack of parking. The prices are reasonable for a Michelin star-rated restaurant, and we think Nana's is worth considering for a star, but the prices are a bit steep without the star and without reasonable parking. Still, Nana's is a wonderful choice for a special occasion when you are willing to spend a little extra for an outstanding culinary experience.

From the first to the last dish the operative word was oily. The scallops, ravioli, gnocchi and the special fish of the night-snapper, all were over the top soaked in oil or butter. Along with over-salting, all dishes failed to deliver. Sad since we hoping so much more from Nanas.

We had a great dining experience at Nana’s! All of the food was high quality and we truly enjoyed our meal. I would recommend sitting in the bar area at a high top. Great ambience and not too loud.

Always have a wonderful meal and the ambience transports to somewhere other than Durham. Delicious!

An incredible night to raise funds for restaurants in Western NC impacted by Hurricane Helene, with inventive food, great service and descriptions and very well coordinated delivery to the assembled crowd!

I came for Cucina benefit. The food was so delicious! Wine and cocktail selections also very good. Nanas never disappoints; however, last night was really special. Staff is pretty amazing too!
