Los creadores de Sweet Basil en Vail Colorado abrieron las puertas de un nuevo establecimiento en diciembre del 2012. Qué mejor nombre que Mountain Standard; esta taberna rústica y relajada tiene como objetivo establecer un nuevo estándar en el valle de Vail mediante el uso de antiguas técnicas culinarias. La mayoría de los menús de Mountain Standard son preparados con el método de cocción más tradicional: a fuego vivo. Éste es el único restaurante en el valle que se dedica de tal forma a la cocina de antaño, proporcionando sabores rústicos y honestos, centrándose en los ingredientes más puros de la región de las Montañas Rocosas y más allá. El servicio, así como la cocina, le proporcionará el equilibrio perfecto entre una cena de primera clase y un ambiente despreocupado. Mtn Standard is located in the heart of the Vail Village, which is a pedestrian village. Take interstate 70 to the Vail exit #176. Proceed through rotary intersections so that you wind up heading East on the So. Frontage Road (ski mountain side of the highway). Go eastbound approx.¼ mile to the Vail Village parking structure. Exit the structure out the middle portal to the south. Go across the Covered Bridge another 75 yards, and go right on Gore Creek Dr. We are down the steps past the Fountain
Public transit
The Vail Village free in town bus shuttle is available year round throughout the village. Take the bus to the Covered Bridge stop and proceed as noted below. Free public transportation is also available from East to West Vail into the Transportation Center at the main parking structure.

El servicio malísimo. El mesero decidió interpretar lo que ordenamos, trajo todo mal y tardó 50 minutos en traer el primer plato

Fabulous all around. Mack is a great server! Food was excellent. Cocktails too.

We had a great time. Lindsay was super. She explained the ingredients and helped us with our food allergies. Drinks were creative. Recommend this restaurant highly.

This is one of the best meals we have had in Vail Village. The appetizers (lamb skewers and pimiento cream) were fantastic. Our mains (salmon, rotisserie chicken) were wonderful too! The spot is charming and currently has an ice sculpture and bird sounds display in front. Loved it and will return!

You cannot miss with Mountain Standard. The family style rainbow is not to be missed. And the oysters and oyster shooters. And the carpaccio. See, I can’t stop!

Clean fresh well prepared and presented food. The menu is well thought out and executed by the kitchen and it rotates regularly. The serving staff are attentive and well informed and the atmosphere is alive without being over the top. All in all a wonderful experience.

Made reservations got right in even a few minutes early, did take a while for someone to come over for water. Food & drinks were great! A Must get is buttermilk biscuits!
