Montrachet at Bowen Hills, is located on King Street. Large windows enclose a lavishly furnished space, creating
intimacy for a world of luxury inside; white tablecloths, silver cutlery, rich timbers and a well-stocked bar are all redolent of a charming Parisian brasserie and perceptive waitstaff are attentive in fulfilling culinary desires.
Stepping into Montrachet is like stepping into a Parisian bistro. From the burgundy leather banquet that runs the length of the room, to the marble comptoir (bar), Montrachet oozes elegance and charm. Traditional overtones and design are accompanied by Laguiole cutlery, monogrammed crockery and glassware and a well stocked bar. French antiques, metal pastis signs and gilt framed mirrors create an ambience perfectly complimentary to the French cuisine of executive chef and owner Clement Chauvin is famous for.

    We didn’t think Montrachet could improve, but under new management it did. The food was exquisite and the staff were warm and inviting, with the effervescent General Manager adding his personal touch to the ambience. We can’t wait to return.

    We had heard great things about the restaurant and booked a Degustation dinner for two at 8:30 PM. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one waiter, who took our order. However, throughout the evening, we interacted with a total of three additional waiters. We felt as though we had to repeat our requests and preferences multiple times to different staff members, which disrupted the flow of our experience. While everyone was polite, we noticed that the service felt somewhat fragmented. For example, we had to specifically ask for wine pairings, and nothing was offered proactively, which was surprising given the restaurant's reputation. It seemed that the staff, though courteous, were preoccupied and not as attentive as we had expected for such a well-regarded French establishment. That said, the food and wine were excellent and lived up to the classic standards we anticipated

    Pure excellence. The ambiance was spot on, noise levels and lighting just right. The crew on staff were attentive not interruptive, the chef personable and the food! Perfect. Such delightful presentation, exquisite taste sensations on every plate. Montrachet deserves it's fine dining reputation. It is an experience that should be sought out at least one in a lifetime. Thank you.

    Food was sensational!! Thoroughly enjoyed the 5-course degustation with wine pairing. Possibly the best food we’ve eaten. Wines were perfectly matched. Just a little sad that we couldn’t purchase an extra glass of our most enjoyed wine of the menu … guess that is what keeps the menu magic. See you again soon, Montrachet.

    The food is outstanding and the service amazing - however, we had gift vouchers less than a year old valid until August 2026 and they would not Honor them due to change of ownership; even though business name is unchanged

    This restaurant was superb. The food and wine were exquisite - very fine dining indeed. The sommelier was very diligent and capable. The only blemish was that another waiter did not provide us with a glass of wine that we had requested.
