I had dinner at Monarch with a friend before seeing a show at the Orpheum. We were seated immediately and service was prompt. My friend was pleased to hear that she could get gluten-free pasta and ordered it with chicken. I ordered the risotto with shrimp. Her order came sans chicken and mine came with salmon instead of shrimp, but both were quickly remedied. Unfortunately, my friend's chicken was too dry to eat, but she enjoyed the pasta. My shrimp risotto was good; I only wish that restaurants would take the tail off of the shrimp before serving. We made it to the theatre with plenty of time to spare.

I had Ratatouille as a vegan option, off the menu, that was delicious! Good service!

Ambiance: 1/5 The restaurant was not full, but they still sat us by the restrooms. This seating arrangement seems to be the priority. I was warned by another previous guest that would happen. The location request and appeals as reservations and fine dinning, but the items on menu do not appeal to that. Food: 2/5: The menu is okay and simple. I asked for medium cooked steak and received a fully cooked. A good discount was applied for the mistake, but the meat options were not flavorful. The high end plates are not flavorful and the other is not appropriate for such fine dinning. We didn't have any drinks, but they had some expensive wine and cheap beer for selection.

This was our first time at Monarch. We had a wonderful experience! We have to eat gluten-free, and they did a great job accommodating that. We will be back again!

Excellent service from the minute we walked in. LOVED the ambiance and food was delicious! We highly recommend Monarch for your next date night!

I had high hopes for Monarch after viewing their site. The decor is beautiful and there was one vegan choice on the menu, so this would work for me. I was taking my friend out for her birthday, and she arrived first. She wasn't greeted, and we had to wait and I had to ask for a server. She was too busy, although there were only two other tables. The place was dead. The bartender brought us tepid water and menus. The vegan choice had been removed. The bartender was too busy to provide good service or check on us, and the bar isn't in the same room as the restaurant. The bruschetta had thick, oily slices of mozzarella on tiny bread, and the pesto pasta (which wasn't vegan) was "Grinch Green." We asked for some bread to go with it, and we were charged for that. The flavor was fine if you like pesto. We were told there wasn't a dessert menu, but they had a turtle cheesecake, which my friend doesn't like, so she didn't get a birthday treat, The bartender forgot to add my friend's second drink (a room-temperature hot toddy) to my bill after I looked at it and gave him my card, so when he returned, he added it without telling me the new total before paying. Most restaurants would have comped the dring or, at minimum, informed the diner that the bill would be increased before they paid. I would not recommend this restaurant, and I feel terrible that my friend had a bad birthday experience. I don't think it will stay open much longer anyway.

First time at Monarch after wanting to come here for a while! Food was fabulous. The vibe inside is perfect. Gorgeous bar outside the entrance. Great food with great service

Food was disappointing, particularly given the price point. Had salmon, and even Costco salmon cooked at home is way better. Managed to totally destroy broccoli and spinach. Service was ok ambiance was ok. Won’t be back.

The food was mediocre at best. Fries were soggy, bruschetta was made on stale bread. Regretted spending $100 on a meal that was subpar when there are much better choices downtown.
