Located on Mission Street between Ocean Ave & 7th Ave, in Carmel California. Mission Bistro Restaurant is owned by Shaheen Alnuaimi. Our history-rich location is warm, charming, and above all cozy. We offer brunch, lunch, dinner, local, and import wines. Chef Matt Zimny sources from Monterey and Santa Cruz County farms and ranches with the goal of serving what is fresh and currently available. Wonderful menu variety; chef is skilled in delicate entrees and beautiful accompanying flavors in sauces and seasonings. Great wine list to go with menu selections.

The soup of the day was fabulous Japanese version of Pumpkin Squash and I ordered the Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and it was scrumptious although the bread wasn’t toasted but I he bread was really good. My wife said the chicken sandwich was great. Chicken grilled perfect so tender!

We happened upon the Mission Bistro for lunch yesterday. It’s a charming smallish restaurant. From the hostess to the server to the bus staff everyone was very friendly and simply provided great service. We ordered the sausage as an appetizer, then I had the Miso Cod and my husband had the Short Rib Ravioli. All were absolutely fantastic!!!! We live in the Bay Area and come to Carmel often and this will be our new go to place!

Nice atmosphere and good service. We both enjoyed the swordfish, which was a generous serving size. But the serving size of the side vegetables and sauce was lacking. They try to be artistic with the food presentation by locating all the food on one side of the plate, using about 1/3 of the area available. That was the case with the entree and dessert. Overall, serving size was too small and we walked away hungry. Disappointed in the pistachio cake dessert. Tiny cubes of cake and some funky mint flavor ruined the overall taste. You cannot share an appetizer or dessert with your mate and walk away fulfilled. Of the 4 restaurants we visited during our Carmel stay, this was the least satisfying. They could do better.

The entire staff was attentive and genuinely friendly. The ambiance is comfortable and classy. Their menu is to the point, so they do what they do well. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Amazing service! Waiter is very accommodating to our friends dog. The best tea was served, music was really good and so was the food! We’ll definitely come again!
