Located in the heart of the old railroad and mining town of Minturn, the Saloon’s building dates back to 1901. During the last one hundred years it has been, at one time or another, home to various taverns, restaurants and even back room gambling for railroaders. While the last five decades have seen the development of Vail and Beaver Creek resorts just seven miles on either side of Minturn, the town’s appearance and feel retains its historic Colorado roots. Recently under new ownership, The Saloon has undergone a complete renovation and reopened in November of '23 with a fresh new menu and updated space. Chef Anthony Mazza's menu features slow-cooked short rib and pork cheek and Colorado River Ranch wagyu steak. The nostalgia and historical memorabilia and photos remain. The space still feels like The Saloon, but carried into the present day. Enjoy a resurrected Colorado Saloon and feel the history all around you.

We live in Avon and frequent this restaurant from time to time. The food is average for the price! The older lady who is the hostess is also rude.

Been going here for 20+ years so review has bias. Recent ownership change and remodel makes the main dining area feel more upscale, but they crank the music so loud that nobody can hear anyone talking at the table. We had to repeat our order 3 times to the wait staff who couldn’t hear it was so loud. So the place can’t make up its mind if it’s a quiet and upscale restaurant, or a rowdy loud canteen. Shouldn’t be the worst of both of those and yet that’s the current vibe. Food was great, but no more duck or quail on the menu which were the best part of going in the past. Remodel is pretty, but no longer good for our family.

Good ambience and food. Lacks many vegetarian options which is atypical of a Mexican restaurant. Salsa was okay. The wagyu hot dog amazing. Thanks for being open on Christmas eve.

What a great experience. Our waiter, Colin, was so helpful with local tips and recommendations. The atmosphere is A+. The food is so flavorful and some unusual combinations that worked great. It is a bit expensive. The bison enchiladas were amazing. Must see this place!

Can't say enough about how great of a time we had at The Saloon! The food was fantastic, the margaritas are every bit as good as I heard they were and the service was excellent. Plus, it has such a cool vibe. The hostess, Mary, truly made our night with all of her tips for visiting the area. We will definitely be back!

What a lovely surprise this place is! Excellent hearty southwestern food and a great ambiance. The drinks are also excellent. I spent 2 weeks in vail and a week in beaver creek, this restaurant and the surrounding town is an easy drive and well worth it! It’s full of locals for a reason. A must try!
