Located in the heart of the old railroad and mining town of Minturn, the Saloon’s building dates back to 1901. During the last one hundred years it has been, at one time or another, home to various taverns, restaurants and even back room gambling for railroaders. While the last five decades have seen the development of Vail and Beaver Creek resorts just seven miles on either side of Minturn, the town’s appearance and feel retains its historic Colorado roots. Recently under new ownership, The Saloon has undergone a complete renovation and reopened in November of '23 with a fresh new menu and updated space. Chef Anthony Mazza's menu features slow-cooked short rib and pork cheek and Colorado River Ranch wagyu steak. The nostalgia and historical memorabilia and photos remain. The space still feels like The Saloon, but carried into the present day. Enjoy a resurrected Colorado Saloon and feel the history all around you.

The saloon never disappoints! Such an iconic place with so much history and charm. Always a hit with the locals but visitors should be sure to add this to their list. Don’t skip the ribs!

From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by Mary who was awesome. Friendly big smile excellent way to start the evening. We’re immediately introduced to our server Russell, who is also amazing. Gave a suggestion on what we should eat, and made sure that we had a margarita, moments after we sat down. The margaritas were really good. I had posole which was really well done, I’m a little bit of a posole snob, but they nailed it. My dinner guest had the Birra taco which was also good. Not enough meat inside, and too much cream on the outside, but the Jus that came with the taco was delicious! All in all, it was a really wonderful evening. I can’t say enough about the service, or the ambience, on point in both aspects. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it well! Most defiantly a must do stop if you are visiting the area.

If you were looking for the legendary saloon’s delicious., world class ribs, forget about it. “We’re out of ribs,” the server told us on our first visit to the refurbished restaurant, now under new ownership. It was a holiday weekend Sunday night at 7pm. The new owners failing to offer the dish we’ve been coming for since 1986? Inexcusable. What they did have was mediocre, the service rushed and indifferent, even though it wasn’t crowded. We will never darken this restaurant’s door, again.

Decent place, food is good. Ribs seem to be the highlight. Hot pushed out of dining room at 8:20pm seemed kind of strange. We would have been leaving within 15 minutes.

I have been coming to this Resturant for decades. But now that the long overdue renovation has been completed I can bring guests here without hesitation. The Duke margarita with Grand Marnier is delicious😊
