Why you should not go: 1. Food is actually mediocre; cooked ahead and plated when ordered; you can't charge exorbitant prices and serve prime cuts like Wagyu beef that are pre-cooked hours or days in advance. 2. Exorbitant prices for micro plates. No, spending good money on bad food is not a sign that you are affluent; it's a sign that you're not wise 3. Service that is neither professional nor knowledgable. If you prefer a serving team where your waiter has serious attitude and the support team is unskilled and clumsy, guaranteed to drop numerous utensils and plates on you or spill water on you that have been sitting on plates from the kitchen. GROSS! ====== The service was terrible; a disastrous combination of "Why am I doing this job millennials" who aren't particularly fast and definitely not experienced is a guaranteed recipe for disaster for a restaurant that pretends to do Japanese food but is quite entirely not Japanese - pretty sure they don't have a single Japanese person on staff. Our server was condescending, rushed, and most notably, absent ! When he was around, he was difficult to understand with a very heavy accent amidst a rather noisy - but not cozy - environment. He never picked up a single plate from the kitchen on time. You know when you ask a server to follow up and the plate magically is ready. You also know when the food is cold. OH On that bit. For the price Minami charges, you would expect freshly cooked food! NOPE, instead you get pre-cooked stuff that's been assembled. Order one of the Wagyu steaks. The steaks come cold ! It' ain't seen heat for what looked like a day. There's also the issue with approrpriate creative choices and just bad. Example, the deep fried pieces of rice paper that sits between the pieces of cold grey steak - they are drenched in oil. Instead of a welcoming crisp, or delightful flavour, you get to embrace the yum of oil that hasn't been changed regularly.

Formidable food and experience. I can’t remember our waitress name but she was awesome and attentive. We will definitely come back for special occasions!

The food, service, ambience, and vibe were all great. I love coming here. The o-toro and uni nigiri were great, and the Minami roll never disappoints.

The food and service here was excellent. After coming back from Japan recently this summer, the sushi here matches up where the food originate from. The waiter explained they source a lot of their ingredients from Japan as well. I can't wait to go back.
