The Nordic Experience - MIKKO is the place to try an array of modern, healthy dishes while experiencing the intimate and comfortable environment Chef Mikko easily creates. And he cooks for others. His versatile cuisine is complemented by his innate ability to develop genuine relationships with whoever enjoys his meals.

Local Ingredients and International Flavor.
Rye, seafood, mushrooms, berries, and roots form the fundamentals of Nordic food. Each dish Chef Mikko prepares is an elegant combination of traditional and modern influence. Nordic fare is unique in its simple, yet versatile, presentation. Using traditional cooking techniques such as curing, smoking and pickling, every plate delivers a distinct and refined taste.

This place is a great option in the Logan Circle area. Nordic cuisine is certainly unique! Prices are also reasonable I’ve now had both dinner and brunch at Mikko’s and they were both delicious a little unique. However, my companion found egg shell in his Salmon Benedict. We were the only ones in the restaurant this morning and there is simply no excuse for this

My god, the food is fantastic. Place is very small. Most of the dining space is outdoors, so on cold or chilly nights you will need a reservation. Service was really good. COD and mashed potatoes was delicious. My wife had the Traditional Fish Soup and the Herring open face sandwich. She was in heaven. Such a nice place.

Mikko is the absolute best! Food is fantastic and unique — but the service is really where this place shines. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and kind, it feels like having dinner at a friend’s house. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

lovely authentic Scandinavian/Finnish restaurant with an unbelievable selection of baked goods. Really delicious karadamon buns and smoked salmon eggs benedict. And go get yourself some original Semla buns. they are in season now.

Such a delightful find! Small location, excellent food, service was great. Definitely will come back for brunch - we had dinner, but their brunch menu looked amazing.
