Quirky, friendly and comfortable little restaurant. Brilliant for when you want something tasty and not sure how hungry you are. The fried chicken was a revelation. Wonderful food and great value for money

Food was amazing!! Best ramen I’ve had so far and the Korean Fried Chicken is unbelievable!

Our initial impressions were good, with seaweed and edamame starters delicate and tasty. The chicken kaarage was also tasty, however perhaps a bit over-fried. The gyoza dumplings were so-so, unremarkable in flavour and were served first with empty sauce bowls (understandable that things can be missed) . MOst disappointing were the skewers, extremely over-fried and lacking substance, especially the okra and green beans. Dessert choice of fruit salad contained only one of the fruits mentioned on the menu, there was no mango and it was served with icecream and cream, when we chose it as a vegan option (granted this was explained as a menu printing error). It was a pity as there were some good things overshadowed by the bad and Mikaku did not live up to Jay Rayner's review so we will not recommend to others.

Food was so tasty! I hadn’t been before but wanted to try some different things so had a small ramen bowl and 3 dumplings - perfect meal size. My friends all enjoyed their meals (dumplings, katsu curries, ramen, wings) and it came to less than £10 each including drinks. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The only thing was - it was a freezing cold day and we were sitting in one of the window booths. The door doesn’t always close properly so a cold breeze kept blowing on us. That is our only criticism. We loved Mikaku and will be back again!

We didn't get round to having any food as unfortunately the table we were offered was at the window (usually a good thing) but in this instance was absolutely freezing, I could feel the cold before I even sat down. We were offered another, but with backless stools. I'm afraid perching on a stool for dinner is not my thing so we just left. A pity as I'd been looking forward to it.

Amazing food, excellent service. Keep going back, one of the best Japanese food places I've tried in the UK. The fact they do half portions is a winner too!

Love this place, may be very busy and someone they run out of certain items but always worth it if you love ramen.
