In keeping with the spirit of a traditional mezcaleria found in Mexico City, the elongated, plush banquette anchors each table inviting guests to sink in and relax. Every corner of the dining room reveals treasures from Johnny’s travels, paired with captivating art like intricate Mexican embroidery that sparks conversation. At the heart of the space is a captivating mural on traditional bark paper by local Latinx artist Maria Morante, a powerful homage to Mexican folk art.

The food was rich and delicious. A cacophony of flavors with each plate that was served up by the chefs. Sat at the Chefs Counter and enjoyed hearing the stories behind each of the dishes as they were prepared and served. The staff is super friendly and very into their craft.

This was the best meal we’ve ever had in Denver! Incredibly flavorful, and the proteins were cooked to perfection. Plus, wonderful service and a lovely chat with Chef Johnny, who is a sweetheart.

We had a wonderful time here. Food was very reminiscent of our trip to Mexico City. Fancy without being stuffy, good value for the dishes and great cocktail list!

Dining at Mezcaleria Alma for my partner’s birthday was such a treat for the both of us. The entire team was attentive yet gave appropriate space. Everyone was excited about what they were serving us, from cocktails, mezcal, to each plate. We loved everything we ate. It was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable, not just a beautiful presentation or cool experience (which each plate still was). Definitely recommend Mezcaleria Alma for its thoughtfully curated food, drink, environment, and service.

Arguably the best dining experience my wife and I have ever had. Cannot wait to come back, the gal that was the chef in front of us was incredible and gave us a phenomenal recommendation for a “surprise” dish at the end.

Really unique and delicious cocktails and food. The standout was the beef cheek with a 36 ingredient mole and a side of sweet potato purée. It came with corn tortillas so we could make our own tacos and the mix of flavors was unexpected but really nice. The service was also great, our server (Kristina) was great, she was super nice, unpretentious, and very knowledgeable and gave us some good insight into the menu. The environment is casual and upbeat with good music. I highly recommend checking it out.
