Overall decent place, could improve on small details. Espresso martinis were too sweet, we asked our waiter if the bartender could make a regular espresso martini with tequila reposado instead of vodka vs the one that they had on the menu. My friend and I even told the server how to tell the bartender how to make it, and he replied with “so like a carajillo?” And we replied with “those are two completely different drinks.” Our waiter came back and brought us the new espresso martinis, but they tasted like if they had just added cold brew with tequila reposado. I do not recommend their espresso martinis.

Our apps, entree and cocktails were SO GOOD. We followed our waiter’s suggestions and he was spot on. STEVEN is the best! We started the night off with the Grandioso margarita and added muddled jalapeños with a tajin rim. Delicious! Then we enjoyed marinated shrimp and the arepas. For our entree, we had the steak and lobster fajitas served with their freshly made corn tortillas. I was hesitant to order the corn tortillas because usually they break and do not have enough substance but these were the exception. Thick and so tasty! Best meal we have had in a long time.

Food was excellent. Only being open a week and the kitchen was rocking and rolling. We really like the food. Also, Jennifer, our waitperson was awesome. We will be asking for her on our next visit.

Tried the tacos. Carnitas, Asada, & Shrimp/Elote (can’t go wrong with any of those). Had to wait 30 minutes for our table, reservation was for 8pm. Margarita flight was tasty. Highly recommend! Overall, food was worth the wait.

Im giving this rating because as a new restaurant it left a lot to be desired. Flavors on the shrimp ceviche appettizer was lacking as well as many of the rice option like cilantro lime rice and the pallea type rice. The entrees were luke warm at best like they had been sitting waiting to be delivered to us for a while. Cocktail service was slow was well. The cocktails were tasty. The ambiance in the establishment was wonderful just the dining experience was a miss. Waiter never checked on us for long spans of time never asked how was the food. He Didn’t give suggestions. I put on the reservation it was a birthday celebration and there was no acknowledgement. Most of our food was still on the plate because it was cold he came to the table never asked why only if we wanted to go boxes. We didn’t ask for a manager because we aren’t those people but honestly as a new restaurant management should be on the floor introducing themselves and inquiring about the patrons experience. If i go back it’ll be just to the bar to try out the happy hour.

My friends and I absolutely loved Mexican Sugar. We were a bit skeptical at first since this location had just opened, but we were pleasantly surprised. Tony was our server and he was amazing! He really made us feel welcomed and cared for. His passion for service definitely made our whole experience exceptional and made us future reoccurring guests. He absolutely sold the whole ambiance of this place through his recommendations and positive service. We could not rave about him enough. He also made us feel like honored guests as we were celebrating a birthday. His recommendations of the Latin Paella and Ceviche were absolutely spot on and incredible. We were also able to split these dishes between 3 adults and left fully satisfied. There was so much flavor in everything we ate. The churros are also a must to try. It’s the perfect texture with a crispy out layer and a perfect bouncy fluff on the inside! Definitely recommend this place and would dine here again! The price point was also exceptional especially for the area it is located in.

I think they need time to workout some kinks so if you want to try it, I would wait some time. It was their first week open. The drinks were great but the chips/salsa were salty, arepas were cold, seafood paella was salty, queso fundido wasn’t even melted they had to remake it. The steak fajitas were ok.

I was greeted when I walked in. The restaurant was vibrant and busy. I was walked to the elevator and every step to the table I felt taken care of. Our waiter Parker was nice and inviting. We placed two drink orders. However, this took 25-30 minutes to come out. The salsa was steaming hot and so good. Our waiter catered to our every need. It just took awhile to take our food order, we weren’t given recommendations of what to try. The restaurant was a bit noisy because of the crowd, but the music was a little loud. My party of 3 kept shouting across the table or saying “huh?” a lot. The carne asada fajitas had great flavor and was cooked to perfection. There are peppers that are a bit spicy so be careful, it can ruin the entire dish for you. It was an okay experience and I would go back again. After the hype has died down a little.
