Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson is a vibrant contemporary American restaurant from Marcus Samuelsson within the Perelman Performing Arts Center. Metropolis is the culinary anchor of this new cultural cornerstone of Lower Manhattan and is honored to play a role in the final chapter of rebuilding the World Trade Center site. Its menu explores the rich culinary traditions of New York City through a modern lens with theatrical cocktails, a fun and worldly wine list, and gracious hospitality. Designed by David Rockwell, Metropolis features a dazzling yet warmly inviting dining room and a bustling bar, a landscaped outdoor terrace, and a lobby lounge featuring free-to-the-public artistic programming.

If you want delicious food with a sexy vibe, this is your spot. The bartender Ashley makes the best drink as if she is making them for kings and queens. The drinks are just as amazing as the food. My favorite is the crispy snapper. It is divine! The entire staff is extraordinary. Run. Do not walk to go to metropolis!

Food was uneven: in the past, everything has been excellent: in this case, the appetizers were excellent. However, two of the main courses this time were average - one dish had pasta that was overcooked and mushy - and the other meal just did not have a good flavor (black cod). The desert offerings were minimal and the one we chose was not very good - way too tart and no balance. We were really sorry about the meal because in the past, we have looked forward to the Metropolis meals. It doesn't mean we won't return: it is very convenient when we go to events at the PAC, but so sorry the meals was disappointing, because it is part of the draw to PAC.

Food was delicious but service was not good. We had to ask for water refills, drinks came after we had finished our entrees, and dirty dishes just sat on the table pilling up. At this level of dining, you shouldn’t be flagging down runners and servers for basic service.

Loved the vibe at Metropolis. The food was good, portions were big and the selection of things of the menu made for great sharing. The service unfortunately was not so great, it was a little all over the place. Our desserts were brought out before the mains were cleared off the table which was a bit confusing, and we had to ask a couple of times for plates and spoons. It also wasn’t super busy but appreciate they may have been under staffed. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and it was a nice experience and opportunity to support a black owned business

Shellfish allergy mentioned and was still served something with cross contamination. They removed the item rather than replacing the entire plate and it was already contaminated.
