Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: El LA Times una vez llamó a Peter Merriman «la Alice Waters aloha» debido a su célebre reputación de promover los ingredientes locales. En Merriman's, que abrió por primera vez en la Isla Grande en 1988, esto se traduce en una puesta al día de clásicos hawaianos como el mahi mahi con costra de macadamia y el falafel de taro. Had lunch here with the ladies today. It was our first time and we all enjoyed it. We ordered the Biscuits in a bag with jam and the truffle fries for appetizer. Couple ladies tried and loved their cocktail “A Honu World”. For lunch we had the Smashed Burger, prime Rib Moco, Chicken Pot Pie, Fresh Fish Sandwich and their version of the Saimin. Then for dessert we had the bread pudding, coconut lime sorbet, coffee and vanilla ice cream. The sorbet was delicious and refreshing and my fish sandwich was moist and oh so yummy! Our server Dylan ( I’m sorry, I hope I got that right) was helpful and attentive. Service and food are 5 stars!

To much noise sitting outside due to traffic. Views are not very good at all since it was in the middle of town and all you could see is higher buildings all around. Food was OK, but really nothing special. Doubt if I would go back.

We love the lobster pot pie, we get it every year when we come back for Valentine's Day. My only issue is that the lobster pot pie does not have that much lobster in it. For $70 you should get the whole lobster cut up in there.

Our Merriman’s experience was 5 stars as usual. We have always had excellent dining here. Always awesome food, drink, and staff.

Unless you can wait over 40 minutes for your meal… do not come here for dinner AND do not come here for Valentine’s Day. We were excited to go to dinner because it’s been a while since we’ve dined out to someplace nice.. then they killed our excitement. And I get it, Valentine’s dinners can be a hit or miss. This was a miss. Our dinner reservations were at 5PM and the valentines dinner menu was not be seen until that time. We ordered all our food - apps, drink, meals, sides - at the same time. My daughter was almost done with her meal and we still didn’t have our meals. We didn’t get that smoked oyster experience as our came out on a plate while we watched others have that experience. My husband had the wrong order. Our entrees weren’t even warm anymore. We didn’t even want their mimosas at the end as an apology as we were already upset with our experience.. why would we want to stay longer? Just like monkeypod, this place is likely only good for lunch and happy hour. I suggest you spend your money somewhere else.

We've enjoyed Merriman's before. For this visit, we brought out-of-town guests. Everyone had a tasty meal. I really like the salad verte - who knew fresh greens and lemon oil could be so tasty? DH had the cheeseburger for the first time - he said it was outstanding. I had a personal favorite - fish tacos. Their iced tea is also particularly good - not just Lipton but a lightly fruity black tea. I have celiac disease (no gluten, ever) and they are able to accommodate with more than just one choice.

We had a great dinner at Merriman’s last night. The live music on the patio was lovely, the food was delicious and the service was excellent.
