Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic. There are classic appetizers like fried pickles, grilled bread and fried Brussels sprouts, as well as more innovative fare like fried pigs ear and buttermilk fried chicken liver. Meat & Potatoes mains include pot roast, salmon and lamb neck cassoulet.

It was ok. Food was cold but it was busy before the theater. Carrots weren’t fully cooked.

Absolutely awesome experience here tonight! Riley went above and beyond to check on our table to make sure our food and cocktails were good. Mind you, he was working behind the bar. Josh was also working behind the bar and stopped by our table as well to check on us. It wasn’t exemplary service! The food was fantastic also. We’ll be back soon.

Great experience. Our server was great. The kitchen is very accommodating to food allergies. This is one of the best spots in Pittsburgh.

Love the restaurant overall, but they disappointed us on the value of their daily entrée special. A tiny piece of Lobster atop a bowl of "Lobster Risotto" [sic]. All tasty but for the price point, not acceptable. We'll be back nonetheless.

Went to celebrate my husband’s retirement. Service staff very friendly, food amazing but a little pricey. Would recommend the steak which was done to perfection, the wedge salad and the both the creamy spinach (which was so creamy and cheesy) and the Brussels sprouts (which were one of the best sprouts we have ever had)! We brought home much of the food for the portions were large! Reheated for lunch the next day and they were just as amazing! Also brought home the coconut cake for dessert we will return but maybe not order as much food… hahaha The ONLY downfall was the noise level and small space between the high top tables. Could hear ALL the conversations around us as though they were part of our party!

Always a great experience! The team did a great job of getting us in by 5pm and out by 6:15pm to attend our show.
