We dined on Valentines evening which had a special menu. We had been there on 3 previous occasions with the regular menu. The Valentines menu was only so-so for a high end price. Chocolate flavor of desserts was lacking. Potato salad course only average. Pasta entree didn't have much flavor. Duck was great. Empanadas were excellent. Not worth the price in my opinion

MDRD is a “tasting” experience vs. a “fueling” experience. The goal is not to get filled up, but rather to experience flavors and textures that are new.

Honestly the meal was lack luster compared to the first time we came. Desserts were basic and lacked the love we seen when first trying things like the tree and the lemon. We ordered the brave potatoes (potatoes were undercooked and hard), the tomatoes on toast, which used to be fresh tomato and basil but now it was just some salsa on bread? The entree's were good, deer leg and a chicken over sweet potato dish, but the desserts were honestly sad. Last time we were treated to an art show of flavor and visionary genius, this time I was served a stale cookie with a ball of pumpkin puree on a plate, and 'The cloud', while tasty, was boring. Our server also constantly sounded like he was annoyed and didn't want to be there. While he said nice things, his attitude was telling us to die, even after tipping him $50. The overall experience wasn't bad, just not good, and for a $200 bill plus $50 tip, this dinner was not worth it. I hope they really sit down and rethink what they want this restaurant to be, mid food at high prices, or true expression of Spanish cuisine with a love for the art of food. 2.7/5 starts guys, I won't be coming back for a while.

The food was amazing and the wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable. My husband and I each had an ensalada and shared three tapas which was the perfect amount of food. The flavor of the tapas was outstanding. Highly recommend MDRD.
