We were celebrating my Dad’s 80th Birthday and it couldn’t have been a better night. The service was lovely. The food was delicious. We were able to have conversations easily and never felt rushed.

My Mom and I made a 430pm reservation on Thursday 12/12 ahead of the Pentatonix concert at All-State Arena. My Mom walks with a walker and we were seated near the back of the restaurant. Not an awful walk for my Mom, but would have been nice to have been closer to the door. We sat for about 10 minutes before the Manager (possible Fernando, cant remember exactly) came by and said they messed up on assigning a server so he would take our order. At first he was attentive to our table: brought our drinks out, our soups and our seafood platter. While the food was excellent and very tasty, he got busy and did not visit our table during the dinner time. We were watching the clock and asked a waiter if we could get another round of drinks. The male server took our drink order and then we did see him for almost 10 minutes. At this point, we asked another server to get the manager because now we needed our check to get to the show. The manager came by and apologized that he got busy and didn't get back to us. We understood that he had other things to attend to but didn't understand why we were not assigned a server. We paid the bill (with no discount) and even tipped probably more than I should have for the service received. The manager said they were busy because of a show at All-State, in which we said we were attending. Im not sure we would go back for the service we received.

Service was fine but the food was pretty bad. Started with a Wedge salad to share, lettuce was not particularly fresh, bacon was funny tasting (how do you ruin bacon?) and there was barely any blue cheese. Had one of the specials whitfefish with risotto. The fish was mushy and the risotto was bland/tasteless. Ugh…

We really wanted this to be nice dinner; we love the architecture of the restaurant and the food is always pretty good. However, they were understaffed and there was no tempo to our waiter visiting our table...always too late, too rushed or never around. There were a couple of families with kids and their phones/gameboys were so loud...just so unfair for other diners. The food was only okay; just unsure how this restaurant thinks this is all acceptable.

I ordered the Chef special: a pan-seared lake superior white fish with lobster and spinach risotto, with lemon butter. The fish was super fishy tasting. The lemon butter with risotto made the dish super rich and there was no lobster in the risotto. It was not eatable. I am a repeat customer who returned because the food, service, ambiance, and price are generally good.
