Our waiter was really awesome! I ordered calamari and it was fresh and crispy. It also had fried fish, peppers, and vegetables. Reminded me of a tempura fry. For main dish, I ordered the ono fish kebab lunch. It came with pita bread, rice and veggie. The fish was perfectly cooked inside BUT the char was very bitter. I also had the frozen yogurt with baklava topping for dessert, that was my favorite. Overall the service was perfect. The food was not that good.

Over air conditioning, too loud for us. Outstanding service. The food was generally very good. Bar not as polished as I would like.

We love Mediterranean food and Mara is one of the best we’ve eaten and the staff is amazing. We’re recommending this restaurant.

Trio, Brussel sprouts, eggplant, pork, chicken were outstanding, but lamb was best. Yogurt with granola topping onolicious. Service excellent

Unfortunately the service was so poor. It was disappointing as I had experienced good service in my past visits and took 2 friends who never tried Mara before. We had to ask for service… to order our food, no offer of dessert, coffee, etc. It was certainly lacking today and not a full house.

Mara was absolutely the best restaurant on Waikiki for Mediterranean food. The service was impeccable and we were actually served by the young female bartender who I’m sorry her name is not coming to mind but she was absolutely unbelievable. She made the drinks and actually served the food and was such a delight to speak with The food was amazing from the hummus to the fillet to the scallops and lastly the yogurt dessert with the baklava. Everything was perfect highly recommend.

We went on Jan 8 for lunch and the waitress told us to show the receipt to the front to get a sticker and she didn’t say where the front was. I never keep a receipt so I didn’t have it. Why can’t she put a sticker on my valet parking ticket? Showed the ticket to the valet guy without a sticker and he was confused. The bun on my burger was badly burnt. The fish was ok. The meat on my daughter’s burger was badly burnt also. I was going to return them but my daughter asked me not to cause it will take another 20-25 min to come and we are going to watch a movie. I don’t think I will go again. What a disappointment! Kind of ruin the beginning of our Girls Day.

I can only tell everyone my experience. Every time I call the number listed (808) 450-3036, I didn't get one pick up. Further more you can't leave a message, not sure if it was intentional? The food is special, but on the pricier side!
