Here at Mad Dogs & Englishmen we have become renowned for our themed Afternoon Tea’s and wonderful cocktails. Enjoy the eclectic surroundings of this unique venue. We offer an immersive experience, a feast for the eyes and the taste buds!
The Parlour Tea Room at Mad Dogs and Englishmen provides a vintage setting to enjoy Afternoon tea. We’ve become renowned for our themed teas which offer an unforgettable experience.
The Botanical Rooms is upstairs and hosts our cocktail bar and also hosts our themed afternoon teas.

    The Nutcracker afternoon was nice, very pretty and gorgeous decor however didn’t get to see hardly any of it as got sat on the first table by the door so felt a bit cheated that after waiting all this time to come we were quite out of the way. Totally shocked by the overall price and don’t think it’s necessary to charge that much, £55 a head for a pretty average afternoon tea and then to add on a huge service charge for bring over two pots of tea and a cake stand is crazy. Sadly I wouldn’t be able to afford to revisit nor would I want to after that extra service charge,I expected something spectacular for that kind of money!

    For £55pp this is wildly overpriced. First impressions of a wrinkled tablecloth and paper napkins was not good. The sandwiches were not fingers but just normal bread cut in half with the crusts removed (some still had bit of crust). The cheese in the cheese and chutney was the pre-grated cheap stuff, Parsnip soup was closer to cold than warm and the Stilton muffin was not flavoursome. Our scones were not warmed and prob not baked on the day either. The selection of cakes were good and only remark on these was that the cheesecake base was soggy. They catered for my dairy free and gluten free wife very well. Staff were friendly and informative. Would not visit again at this price point.

    Wonderful start to the Christmas celebrations with a Nutcracker Afternoom tea… delicious food and so much we had to take the cakes home. Staff so attentive and polite and nothing was too much trouble…Cocktails looked amazing - wow such a brilliant addition to have a cocktail to match the theme.. Will be booking the next one too…

    This was my first but not last visit. It was Nutcracker themed afternoon tea. All tables were in themed booths, the deco was outstanding (says the art student) and gave a really great feel. Food was plentiful and really imaginative (think pigs in blanket hot dog in brioche canapé) and good quality. Music obvs was Nutcracker (think Dad would’ve ben disappointed not ELP) and loads of Xmas favs. Just a truly brilliant experience

    The Afterrnoon teas here are always amazing and something special. The staff are very friendly and kind. The food is lovely and the decor is stunning.

    Took my mum for a Christmas treat and we loved it. It’s like a magical world for adults! Food was delicious and so much of it! Our waitress Caroline was so lovely and really completed the whole experience.

    We did the Nutcracker afternoon tea it was wonderful! Food was lovely the decorations and the way it’s all presented is fab! Highly recommend it well worth a visit!
