I enjoyed my Sunday lunch but the quality was not quite as good as when we had one in November. The Yorkshire not quite so freshly cooked, the roasties not so crisp and the veg too salty. The beef similarly not quite as rare and didn't seem so freshly carved. i will return but slightly disappointed this time. Staff friendly and pleasant atmosphere as usual.

A fabulous lunch with a friend! Food (chicken schnitzel) was delicious. We weren’t rushed and felt very welcome. Even got a little birthday treat! Thank you! Will definitely be back again!

Our second time to Lussmann's but first time to this branch. We went here for our New Years Eve meal but do not live locally. To begin with I wasn't able to get a time for when we wanted, I contacted the manager, who was very helpful to look for a slot as well, he kept in touch via email, was very responsive and friendly. I managed to get a slot via OpenTable. We got to the restaurant and greeted so warmly by the staff and coincidently the manager was there, heard my name and gave us a warm greeting too. we were shown to our table, where there was a nice buzz in the restaurant but we were still able to sit, have a conversation, the atmosphere was great. We both had the mutton bombas for starters - I had these before, they are delicious and so moreish .... given I had these in a different branch, the taste was on par .... I could of easily eaten more! For main we were happy to pay the £8 supplement and both had the sirloin steak with chips and sauce - this was cooked beautifully especially as both my partner and I had it cooked differently, they came out together and were both still hot, the chips were cooked beautifully and the sauce again could not be faulted. It must also be noted, you could really tell the quality of the meat too - it supports the nature of sustainable and good food they emphasis in what they offer. For pudding - we both had the dark chocolate mousse - I am not a sweet person however I finished way before my partner - thats saying something! We ordered from the three course festive menu which was very reasonably priced, I can't emphasise the quality of the food, we like the fact that everything is locally sourced and sustainable maybe this is why the food tastes great. Our compliments to the chef! All other members of staff were friendly and helpful, would highly recommend this restaurant

Fabulous tasty food- good selection of wine -staff very friendly,attentive and knowledgeable about the menu Will definitely be back for another meal

Lusmans is renowned for its ethical stance, locally oroduced food, ethically sourced fish and meat etc... I would have hoped to see this reflected in service, management and general ambience as well general quality of food. Our visir to Berkhampstead Lussmans on a Sunday evening was most disappointing. Some dishes were below average, eg the chicken schnitzel was over salted, and lacked any decernable vegetables! Other dishes were good such as Sunday roast and fish cakes. What really left a nasty taste was that a request for extra gravy for the roast was charged as an additional order. The waitress apologised but said it was company policy.! Really?!! A bill of just over £200 and you are required to pay an additional £2.00 for a very small portion of gravy. This just feels mean and frankly, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Any allowances we might have made for a couple of very average dishes in our party of 4 plus the indifferent service went out of the window at that point. 12.5% service charge included on the bill was paid but somewhat grudgingly for the whole experience!

The food was great and the service was excellent. This is a very good restaurant with expert staff. We came here a few years ago shortly after it opened and were a little dissatisfied with the service, but now it has improved incomparably. We were surprised not to see more people there on Christmas Eve.

A lovely Birthday meal for my son with 6 people. Great service, friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. Lussmans is very comfortable but still feels sophisticated and slick. Plenty of room and some quiet music in the background with a cosy atmosphere. The menu offered plenty of choice and a variety of prices to suit most budgets with the excellent Fish & Chips (everyday in berkhamsted) only £17.99, it was huge and plenty big enough for my two 6ft boys who ordered it. Very tasty with a light and golden batter, an excellent dish. Others ordered the lamb shank, Onlet steak, Trout and Lamb flat bread, all equally as good, served very promptly and delicious. I would definitely recommend Lussmans, It isn't at the cheap end but also doesn't have to be too expensive. A very good experience from start to finish and we will undoubtedly be back soon.

Lovely round table at the back of the restaurant, so we could still see everyone and outside, food choice was lovely and so were the non-alcoholic cocktails, perfect start to Christmas for a family get together.
