   Servers taking to long to take care of us on the table plus was my special ocasion birthday we waited like 20-30 minutes for drinks and the dessert at the end waited a long time also it was like bad vibe between the serves workers I don’t know never had this problem before with service at this place love the good

   The food looked amazing but I’m sorry to say, just didn’t taste good. The fried chicken was greasy and not crispy.,you can the fries were frozen and the Mac and cheese was not it. One of the entrees was called the Dooky dash or something. Please change that name. I really wanted like this place as my go to soul food spot but my search continues

   Our service was a little spotty. Our server who was also the bartender got busy after we ordered our food so we didn’t see him for the rest of the time we were there. A little frustrating because that meant no one came to check on us to see if we needed anything or needed refills but the other servers look like they were taking great care of their guests so we’ll give them another try.

   Let's start with the location: being in the middle of Hillcrest is a surprise, but it works to its favor. For a late Sunday (our reservation was at 7), it was busy but not so crazy that you can't carry a conversation. We were seen quick, often, and our waitress always made sure to get what we asked for or needed. Their biscuits were fall apart in your hands, and the honey butter was godlike in its taste. Their gator bites were perfectly fried and tender, and the Cajun fries had that just right crisp. I ordered the Uptown Kitchen Sink Gumbo, one of their most popular items. I understand why - it's got the right amount of flavor and spice without being overpowering, a solid amount of chicken, sausage, and seafood (along with rice). If you are a drinker, I suggest their Praline Old Fashioned. You owe it to your significant other to take them there.

   Hostess was very friendly and accommodating. Wait service was not great. Very slow to take drink orders or even get water. We needed a few things during dinner and wait staff did not stop by very much and when they did, we asked for a few things and we had to ask two more times before we received. Food came out on the lower side of a good temperature. Atmosphere was good. Food was good, minus the temperature. I can see this place and being a great pick to eat at, but just needs a little extra attention to detail of customer experience.

   Our server was magnificent. Food is so fast 5-star. Really yummy. Only issue is you only get five shrimp on the shrimp and grits. Just not enough and it’s basically a mess of grits with a hint of shrimp. Lovely day and a great lunch for sure.

   Popular place Food wasn’t great. Seemed like the emphasis was getting people served in a timely manner.

   First time here. Ashlee was our server and she was great, friendly and efficient. Food was fantastic. We had ribs and the fried chicken wings with beans and rice and gouda Mac & Cheese. Portions are generous, so bring your appetite. Drinks were creative and yummy too. Oh and the biscuits were delicious!! Can't wait to return. Highly recommend.
