Chef Kent Rode has created a dining experience focusing on regional products and in-season ingredients. From signature drinks to a modern twist on some old classics, Louie’s has you covered. We use premium spirits, house made purees and fresh ingredients. We also boast Nelson’s largest scotch, rum and digestif collections for the more refined of palates.

With over 150 bottles to choose from and Nelson’s largest glass pour selection, our trained Sommeliers’ are sure to find you something to fit your palate. For something on the higher end, ask your server about our secret cellar list.

Overly disappointed. Most appalling finding a dead mouse under our dinner table shortly after arriving. Against our better judgement we stayed to honour our reservation, receiving no acknowledgement or consideration throughout our stay. Staff carried on like this was an every day occurrence. Disgusting. No happy hour reduction on any of our drinks or any other form of customer care. Clearly we are not important to you. There were 10 of us, we spent a bundle. We will not be back.

We ate here for the five course New Year’s Eve dinner, which overall was a fun experience. Our server was friendly and found the answers to our questions. Both bourbon drinks tasted watered down (the second one might not have had any in it), so were very overpriced instead of just slightly overpriced. The wine was also very expensive (I’d expect the 9 oz pours to be closer to the 6 oz costs). The food ranged from disappointing to creative and delicious. The highlights were the amuse bouche olives, the Caesar and Waldorf salads, the pepper threads, and the fried Apple pies (though these could have been smaller/shorter and therefore easier to eat). The beef Wellington meat was cooked perfectly, but the crust was soft and not flaky at all. The duck confit’s cabbage purée was fantastic but the duck itself was very salty. Everything else was good without standing out much either way. For what it was, I think the price was a little too high.

Amazing food and service. Our server was very personable. Got seated quickly and the best food I have had in Nelson. Brownie dessert was a great end to our amazing dinner. Will eat here again!
