Loudons Café & Bakery serves Scottish and continental delicacies from its location at 94B Fountainbridge. Burgers, quiche, soup and pancakes, as well as a vast selection of cakes feature on a menu where most items are made on site and ingredients are locally sourced. The large centrally located cafe is child-friendly and has outdoor seating and free wi-fi and house an in-house bakery downstairs. Loudon's is about ten minutes’ walk away from Haymarket Railway Station, and a sixteen minute walk from the historic Edinburgh Castle.

First time lunch visit with my sisters highly recommend. Food was delicious ,plenty to choose from. Service incredible. Will definitely be back.

Waitresses kept getting the order wrong. No apology. 1/6 got his meal after the rest had almost finished. Some of the food was dry as if left under hot lights for some time. Then just before 1.5 hours were up, we were ushered out. Have been before and it was fine but very disappointed as it was a brief meet up with family who live in the Highlands and Islands.

Dear Louise, First of all, I apologize that you did not enjoy your experience. We are very well known for our high service level, but this time we didn't deliver. I am really surprised that there was no apology on our behalf, and again, I am very sorry about this incident. Regarding the time you had the table for, for everyone who has a table smaller than 10 people, it is always 1.15 mins as per our T+C. Rest assured though, that we always try to be flexible with that. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to offer that on the weekends because we are extremely busy. We always take any sort of negative criticism on board, and please be assured that we will definitely discuss that with the team. Hopefully, you will give us another chance in the future. Really great menu with many and varied options for vegans, vegetarians, meat-eaters and those with dietary intolerances. The dishes all taste as good as they sound and the sweet treat menu is likewise loaded with delicious options.

Lovely food and atmosphere, we all really enjoyed our brunch. Only downside we weren't made aware of the extra cost for swapping menu items (I asked to change the egg in my breakfast for tofu and charged £1 extra) This should be made clear when ordering. Otherwise everything was great! Chai lattes were lovely too.
