Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery was born from a tiny idea two mates from Lancefield had one day whilst having a beer… “Let’s open a brewery!” They never expected that one day, several years later, Lost Watering Hole, The Lancefield Brewery would become the special place it is today. It all began in 1888, when Henry Lindsay bought the former flour mill in Lancefield and converted it into a brewery (God bless him…). Lindsay trademarked the name ‘The Trent Brewery’ and began producing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In the years that followed, the brewery changed hands many times, continuing to trade until early 1898, when it seems both the building and equipment were put up for auction, although it did not find a buyer. Sadly, a mysterious fire gutted the building the night after the auction, signalling its closure. Gladly, our brewery is lost no more… Today, we are proud to welcome you and your friends to Lancefield’s brewery, Lost Watering Hole.

We had a group of 25 celebrating Christmas. The staff were all effecient and courteous and very helpful. It was an excellent venue to celebrate at and all the group just loved it.

We loved this place! It was easy to book and although they had some big groups there , we also had a party of 15, we were served quickly. The other great thong is actually going up and placing and paying for your order which meant no splitting of the bill. The food was great and there was varied menu to choose from

I have dined at the Lost Watering Hole before on a Saturday evening and the food was good. we had lunch there last Friday 8th November 2024, friends came from Melbourne, my meal and my girlfriends' meal were not good. Lamb was overcooked and my calamari was rubbery, coleslaw salad looked old, not fresh or inviting. We told the staff that we did not like our meals, and we had no response or offer of discount or refund. I had two future bookings for the Lost Watering Hole though after having lunch there last Friday. I have cancelled them. I would have thought the staff would have explained to the manager that we had issues with our meals and the manager would have come over and discussed our issues with us. Very disappointing.
