Longhorn smokehouse is new restaurant located within Wrest Point.

We’re taking a modern approach to the traditional flavours and ‘low and slow method’ of Southern American BBQ. Sink your teeth into the best grilled, smoked, and baked meats, sourced from the finest local producers. All against the stunning backdrop of the River Derwent.

In other words, it’s your classic American smokehouse, done the Tasmanian way.

Our team live to grill and smoke Tasmania’s best meats to perfection. We have homemade rubs and a curated range of sauces to complement every dish. I made a booking for my husband and I online for dinner. I then called the restaurant and mentioned I'm a carnivore. I adked about having my steak cooked without any oils, and instead cooked or served with only salt, and some butter on the side. The steak I ordered was the nicest steak I think I've ever eaten! In fact it was so good that I ordered a second one to enjoy! It was perfectly rare in the middle and so juicy. As I pushed down onto the steak with my fork, it felt like I was pushing into a pillow :) Amazing food, awesome staff and a fantastic night!! Oh, and the young lady that greeted us said she had never heard of carnivore, so she googled it so she could learn about it before we arrived. How good is that!! Thank you :)

The food was mediocre, the service was less than mediocre. When it came to payment, they refused to split the bill even though we asked to split it evenly - an easy enough task by any standard. I can’t consciously recommend friends to go there.

We recently visited Langhorn Smokehouse for the first time. When we ordered our food, we told the waitress that we wanted our main course to come after we finished our appetizers. Unfortunately, they brought out our main dish too soon, before we were done with our appetizers. The same thing happened with our dessert. Overall, we were really disappointed with the service.

We were seated at a table for 2 by the window. The staff were very friendly & polite. The food was delicious. My husband had the burger & I had the porterhouse. Both meals were delicious. We then shared the brownie which was YUM!!!!!!!! We will certainly be going back again sometime to celebrate another special occasion.
