Owned and operated by the friendly and energetic couple, Owen and Mindi McGlynn of Asheville Proper, they wanted to create an inviting and easygoing space just for locals, located in North Asheville, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown life.

food was great but I gave it 4 stars since I was very disappointed in the chocolate cake dessert. everything else worked very well.

We are locals and Little D's is close to our home. We often enjoy meals and cocktails here. It's also a fun place to gather with friends. It's small and intimate and the decor is updated and fun. They always have the same staff, who treat us well and recognize us when we return. Never had a bad experience with the food or drinks here. This time he had the steak and I had the sweet potato gnocchi. It was delicious, as were his old fashioned and my cranberry spritz. I highly recommend this restaurant, and would say to make reservations since it's limited seating due to the size. Whether you're just getting appetizers or having a full meal, there's something for everyone's taste buds. Enjoy!

Despite being located in a strip mall, this is no middle brow restaurant. Tasteful layout, small but interesting menu, and impeccable service.

This ranks as one of our top restaurants of all time. Every dish we ate was out of this world. Andrew was fabulous, made excellent recommendations and took great care of us. We would make a special trip to Asheville just to eat here.

I won’t be rushing back to Little D’s. It was a huge letdown after hearing about its great food through reviews. To begin, I asked to taste two red wines so that I could choose one for my meal. After choosing the Nebbiolo, I was amazed that the Nebbiolo wasn’t served to me. Instead, I received the Rioja. After asking a server to confirm my chosen wine with the bar, I gave up and ordered a rosé — not exactly what I wanted and very frustrating! The grilled shrimp that I began my supper with were not fresh and undercooked. The swordfish, which sounded amazing on the menu, was almost undercooked and served with an assortment of bland vegetables. All in all, a HUGE disappointment. Perhaps the kitchen was ‘off’ last night or understaffed. I don’t really know, but it’s no excuse when charging the prices they charge and aspiring to be an excellent local restaurant choice.

We've just discovered this sweet spot in our neighborhood. We enjoyed the evening, except for two factors: 1. My husband ordered the pork dish and it was dry and tough. 2. We nearly froze as with everyone coming and going there was very cold air. I hope that management can address this door/cold air issue to keep people coming in the winter time.
